In general, we had a very good stay at the Ritz. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The rooms are smallish, but typical for a downtown hotel in an older city. Our room did have some places that needed dusting, which the staff took care of right away. Otherwise, the place was clean and pleasant. The Ritz has a restaurant, and you can get a breakfast buffet as part of your package, or pay for it as you use it. The restaurant's food was not, unfortunately, of very high quality. The location is perfect--on Madero, almost exactly between the Zócalo and Bellas Artes. Madero is a pedestrian street, and it is mobbed almost all the time, but surprisingly we did not hear the street noise at all from our rooms, which was a real plus. If you are looking at a well-located hotel with very nice people, this would be a very good option.
