Stayed Aug 2025. Positives: Walking distance to nice, private beach and friendly staff (Nick,Beverley,Celeste, Yari and Julian). Critiques: Overpriced for what they offer. Mediocre Breakfast, infused water that tasted funny - container needs cleaning. Beach loungers and umbrellas provided for an additional cost. $8 bottle of water in room lol. Thin walls, I could hear neighbor's tv. Additional fees tagged on after check in. In hindsight, if not for the positive reviews I would have booked somewhere nicer for the same price or less. Guests are offered parking discount in return for positive review, so not all reviews are objective. Will not recommend. Read through positive and negative reviews for balanced picture and manage your expectations.

Tip: Bring a copy of printed your receipt (from Expedia) with you, they will charge a different amount than what's stated in your expedia.com invoice. They will refuse to respect that original price you agreed to pay on expedia.com. This hotel listing is extremely inaccurate. For reference listing states: "Pilates, fitness and yoga classes" There were no such classes. "Waterfront, on private beach" It's not waterfront, it's across the street from the beach. The beach is not private, anyone walking by can go. "In a nature preserve" There is no nature preserve. It's surrounded by beautiful land that it hasn't been built on, not a nature preserve. "Spa open daily, steam room" Doesn't exist. "At least 80% of food locally-sourced" "At least 80% organic food" It was regular, Costco bought food, not 1 item was organic, nothing stated it was locally-source. "Banquet Hall" Doesn't exist. "Comprehensive recycling policy" Doesn't exist. They do not recycle. All trash went into s regular trash can. "Reusable cups" They only had single use cups, plastic ware, single use plates. "No plastic bottles" Every single guest was given plastic bottles, employees passed them out at the reception desk. "Living plant wall" There are plastic plants everywhere, all over the hotel.

To say this place is incredible would be an understatement. I have never been to such a well thought-out and intentionally prepared hotel. From the lobby to the room they provide things you didn't even know you wanted! Such a lovely place I will come back just to stay here for sure.

I was quite impressed with the whole experience from the easy reservation process to the hotel keeping in contact with me before check in and check out and after a few hours exiting.

I actually really did enjoy our stay. Able to walk right across the road to a beach that isn’t overly crowded with tourists or people. We also found a shark tooth on this beach which was awesome!! The hotel smelled great and the free cookies& popcorn is a plus. Pool was never crowded either which was nice! — Samantha Starr

Had a wonderful stay. Stayed in oceanfront room with our dogs. Room was clean but the carpet really needs to be replaced with tile floor. Would be much cleaner and pet friendly. I also feel like an elevator would make it much more accessible for everyone. My elderly mom had trouble with the stairs. Breakfast was good and the staff are very friendly and welcoming.

I'm just goin to say I won't go back nor will I ever recommend and will do everything I can to get others not to go there as well.y 6yr old son dropped his strawberry cake there where few crumbs cream minimal and was charged $278.75 for urine and vomit charge. I am beyond disgusted and furious to put it gently. Money hungry robbers I'm horrified.

Overall great place to stay, beds were comfy and had a great view. I did not like to have to run across the busy traffic to get to the beach. The staff was fantastic and super nice. We had issues with the room keys not working on the 3rd night, they were very prompt in making new cards for us. Breakfast was good and loved the snacks in the lobby. My boys loved all of the games the hotel had to offer.

Ocean Sands Beach Inn is a wonderfully laid back location. Only 15 minutes from St. Augustine attractions, the Inn has a private beach perfect for families - calm, shallow, warm water and a long gently sloping beach. The staff and amenities were fantastic. Beverly at reception made sure everyone was taken care of - popcorn and cookies in the evening and a shuttle to St. Augustine within minutes. If you needed anything, they were willing to get it. Breakfast in the morning was a simple buffet with everything that one might need. A gem of a find.

This is not a boutique hotel experience - even though they charge a hefty resort fee. It is an old motel on A1A with loud traffic with an ocean view. We paid for 2 nights and stayed just the one.
