It was all good, great place to stay!!!

We loved the kids club! Carlos was amazing and kind. The view was wonderful and the beach access was great. Staff was helpful when it came to transportation. The front desk seemed to be confused multiple times. Maybe it was a mix up between Expedia and their booking system, but I did not find the front desk to be very helpful. The food was ok. For an all inclusive resort, it could have been much better. My kids were slightly upset that they were not allowed in the hot tub AT ALL even with an adult in there with them. Having a giant pool with hot tub for adults only and then a separate pool with a hot tub that kids still aren't allowed to use was slightly ridiculous. It wasn't even that warm. Staff did try to accommodate my broken Spanish, so I was happy with that. Would still recommend, but expect mediocre food and small amenities.

This review is hard to write. This hotel had some amazing things about it and some not so amazing things. Let’s start off with the good- I love the resort is small. We went with a big group of people, and we could always find each other. The beach is amazing. The jungle view is stunning. Having a two bedroom and two bathroom unit with children is hard to beat. There were so many activities and programming for the kids. The swim up bar was a blast and the shows in the evening were fabulous. Buttttt the food was not so great. They only allowed six people per reservation and we had a group of over 20. I will say that they did a great job accommodating us, but it seems silly when the restaurant is half empty that they couldn’t just take us all at the same time. The food wasn’t the best although it wasn’t the worst. There were some things that were good especially the ice cream and ice cream cones. Two big complaints- they started to play loud music at the outside bar at 10:30pm at night until after 11 PM and it woke us up multiple nights. Also quite a bit of our group got sick. I don’t think it was food poisoning. I have a feeling it was something to do with the water. Overall, we had an amazing time and have a memorable trip!

We have been to Barceló twice and each time is phenomenal. The staff is so attentive and goes above and beyond. The bartenders are amazing and this place is a lot of fun for an adults only or family trip. This resort is about 20 minutes south of the romantic zone. This resort does not have tons of in-house entertainment BUT it is so budget friendly that you’ll can and SHOULD go into town and explore, and book with Vallarta Adventures, or other local excursions. Despite what others say, the food is pretty good for an all inclusive and the dinner buffet menu changes each night to different themed food. Book a trip here!

I am being generous giving them 2 stars. Truthfully the second star is for the few smiling faces we were met with on our 1 week stay. The rooms are clean and the overall hotel is nice but for it being a “all inclusive resort” they truly lack on alot of things. After 11:30 there is no where to grab a quick snack everything shuts down. The food selection is very limited to mostly popular vallarta dishes. There at 3 additional restaurants that you must make a reservation for but they are first come for serve and they are closed on certain days. Secondly most of the staff is rude aren’t very helpful. You can relax by the adults only pool but you’ll have to wait for someone to walk by before you can get a drink or go to the other pool where the swim up bar is. They have an arcade room that you have to pay to use. 1 hour play on pool table will cost you $100 pesos. We had several waiters at the buffet that were great, as well as the waiter at the steak house.The late night shows are great!But most pleasant experience was getting off the resort into an uber and into the city. If you are looking to relax and enjoy yourself this wouldn’t never be my first choice.We wanted a change away from Cancun for our honey moon and unfortunately wasn’t great but we made the most of it!

Our stay at this all-inclusive resort was truly magical. The food was delicious, the views were breathtaking, and every moment was enjoyable. We had an amazing time and created memories that will last a lifetime.

The staff was excellent and provided great service throughout our stay. Unfortunately, both my daughter and I experienced food poisoning, which significantly impacted our vacation. As a result, we were unable to fully enjoy our time away, making what should have been a memorable trip a very disappointing experience. We wanted to bring this matter to your attention and hope it can be investigated to help prevent similar situations for future guests. Thank you for your time and consideration.

We had an amazing stay at this all-inclusive resort! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcomed and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The food exceeded our expectations, with plenty of delicious options to choose from at every meal. The pools and beach were beautiful, and very clean. We truly felt relaxed and taken care of throughout our vacation. We would definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a memorable getaway and can’t wait to come back!

The place was awesome! The food was good, the drinks were good, and the staff was excellent.

Clean room, great staff, but the buffet area has less options then other Barcelo hotels. The swim up bar is great but should be an adult only pool.

La q da las toallas para la alberca éramos 3 personas y todo el tiempo no me quería dar toallas me decía q tenía q ir a recepción a pedir unas tarjetas y a toda la demás gente le daba toallas y nomas le preguntaba en q habitación estaba y le daba 3 a 4 toallas fui a recepción y solo me dieron una tarjeta y ella solo me quiso dar una toalla q porq era por targets y me volvió a pedir q fuera a recepción por 2 tarjetas mas para darme otras toallas para mis 2 hijos y a otra gente solo le daba toallas sin pedirle nada

The hotel and rooms are beautiful. Beach and foliage are beautiful as well. However, the food is average at best.

A Complete Disaster: The Worst Resort in Six Trips to Puerto Vallarta ​I have traveled to Puerto Vallarta six times, and my recent stay at the Barceló was without a doubt the worst all-inclusive experience I have ever had. The entire trip was a disaster, driven by severe facility issues and an incredibly unfriendly management team. Let's face it; the pictures online are 20 years old at least! ​The state of the hotel was shocking, plagued by multiple water leaks throughout the property. The most egregious leak was right next to the food in the buffet area; rather than properly fixing the issue, the staff simply laid out towels on the floor to soak up the mess. The hazards continued beyond the dining hall, with other active leaks causing standing water in the corridors on the way to my room. ​Furthermore, the beach—advertised as a private, swimmable area—was entirely unusable. There were at least 25 boats parked directly in the water where guests are supposed to swim. Having an obstacle course of boats in a designated swimming zone is completely unacceptable. ​When I brought these issues to management, they were entirely dismissive. The situation was so unbearable that I cut my losses and paid an additional $1,000 out of pocket to switch to the Hilton Vallarta—a far superior property with a staff that cares. ​Save your money and your peace of mind. Avoid the Barceló at all costs. ​
