I am Gluten free and found the bread offered inedible resembling cardboard. Pity as porridge was good. And staff very helpful otherwise. Iam also partly disabled and need a walk in shower, which I was expecting. Consequently I was unable to shower as I couldn't get into the bath. We would definitely come again if I can have a walk in shower and better GF bread please. Thank you

Lovely Hotel should be more than 3 stars.

Four stars because I had brown water in the shower. Clearly there was some refubrishment on water system done and nobody drained dirty water from the pipes. Otherwise than that a good stay. Comfy bed. Decent room size, helpful staff.

Very friendly staff and extremely dog friendly. The food was nothing special but fairly priced so not going to complain too much about that.

Hotel.has great charm. Very good food. The staff was incredible. Only drawback was no air conditioning.

Really need to use a vacuum cleaner around the bed

July 2026 - Beautiful building set in lovely grounds. Room was clean and bed comfy though it didn’t have air conditioning which we could have done with in the heatwave. Food in the restaurant was good and buffet breakfast was very good with plenty of choice

Lovely old building; however bathroom could have done with a deep clean. It was an extremely hot day and, although there was a fan, we had to close the window due to outside noise and it was stifling. We were notified only the day before that the hotel was hosting a prom and they were all congregating outside in the garden under our window! Asked to be moved but manager said hotel was full and asked" what do you expect me to do?" On a positive note, food was good and pool was lovely. Will not book again.

Room needed a proper clean, can see animal fur in rooms, mould and dirt in bathrooms. Put one set of towels in the bathroom and then you have to hunt for the other set in the wardrobe. Pool times for children are slap bang at children’s dinner time so they can’t use the facilities. The room where the party was was nice and cool.

Good location, rooms need a refurb. Breakfast great and staff friendly.

Great hotel but out of the way. Worth it because of the beautiful grounds. Suite was wonderful and staff were very helpful. Would stay here again.

Good choice of breakfast items

My son and i had a lovely stay here on my birthday and the staff and food were great. However one of the reasons I picked this hotel was the pool. When we went to go in the pool we were told children are only allowed on 4:30-6 daily! I thought that was ridiculous! When we managed to get in there for half an hour there was a teenage girl lying on one of the loungers vaping and swearing which was nice at all!

Nice , 2nd time staying here , no complaints, staff nice and helpful. Property showing a little wear and tear but nothing major . Enjoyed my stay there as a stop off before going on my cruise .

Fabulous hotel! Great location for the Seawork expo I was attending the following day. All your staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. I'm particularly grateful to one of your female bar staff who retrieved my laptop which I left on a seat after a meeting, really sorry, I don't know her name but I'm so grateful. This was a work trip but I'll definitely be back whether for professional or personal reasons.

Staff were excellent, food was great. Room was adequate but a bit tired. Overall it was an convenient place to stay over night while visiting the area.

everything was really good, staff good, restaurant staff the evening were fab, HOWEVER breakfast the following morning was nothing but shambolic and ruined a really good visit i stood at the waiting area for 15-20 minutes with no a person in site to ask/help , eventually i just walked out and left
