I've stayed at this hotel multiple times over the years and have genuinely appreciated watching it improve. Most of the property has been beautifully renovated, and it shows. Unfortunately, this stay was a frustrating exception.
I was placed on the top floor, which has not yet been renovated. The room felt very dated, but the bigger issue was visible water damage and a noticeable mold smell. My allergies flared badly throughout my stay and I struggled to sleep. I requested a room change multiple times and was told nothing was available. On my last night they finally moved me to a renovated room, and the difference was immediate. My allergies cleared up and I slept well for the first time during the trip.
I want to give this hotel the benefit of the doubt because the overall trajectory is positive. But placing guests in rooms with mold and then leaving them there for multiple nights despite complaints is a health issue that needs to be addressed. I hope management takes the top floor seriously before other guests go through the same experience.
