The hotel is set in beautiful grounds. I stayed in a room in an annexe and my check-in would have been a better experience if someone had shown me to my room instead of dragging my cases back and forth until I eventually had to return to reception to get further instructions. The bedroom was smaller than I expected and not to the standard of the rest of the hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The bill was more than I had been quoted when I first booked and the invoices were not clear. I had called and increased my booking from one room to two but because I had spoken to the hotel directly and not amended the booking though Hotels.com I was given a poorer deal on the second room. Lovely Easter lunch.

Comfortable bed, quiet premises but the decor is seriously outdated and in need of a refresh.

This was a last minute stop whilst on business in the area, really good value for money, friendly staff, efficient service, great food. The setting is pleasant, convenient and in a very quiet location.

We had an amazing belated valentines stay. The staff were really friendly and the accommodation was superb!

It looks great but the shower simply did not work. I tried and tried but it would not go hot

Overall nice, though room was not cleaned properly and found hair on the carpets and sheets. Furthermore, on day of check out, I felt rushed to leave.

Hotel rooms rather warm even tried turning heating down and was way too hot even for winter! Great venue and staff are brilliant, just this bit would make it a 10/10

It was a great stay. The cleanliness of the bathroom wasn’t perfect but other than that the staff were very friendly and attentive.

Excellent property and grounds

The hotel is old and tired and the rooms are small. The bed was small and very uncomfortable. The pillows sunk to nothing once you put your head down on them - whether you put one on top of the other or not! The shower handle did not turn and we needed two of us to turn it on! The remote control did not work. We went for tea in the Beale Restaurant, we waited to be seated but noone came. A cup of tea was £6 and the high tea was £45 per person. When we went to ask where we could get a cup of tea, a waitress told us to go and sit in the bar. After 20 minutes of waiting for nothing we left. The hotel is in such beautiful grounds, the views are lovely from the room but it needs a lot of work in order to be called a 4 star hotel. Our one night away in ages was a complete disappointment. When asked at checkout how our stay was I explained. No discount was given instead just an apology and a discount or upgrade next time. We won't be going back!

The Cozy room was not very clean. The shower was small and there was soap scrum on the shower glass. The shower head was dirty. The kettle in the room had some dried up white stuff around and in it (looks like milk).

Checked in with my 1 year old and my mum late afternoon and the room wasn’t the one i booked with the big bed! They asked if i want 2 twins but with my little one being poorly that wasn’t an option because she can fall from a tiny bed! They gave me cot bed which was broken! The heating didn’t work! So they had an old small heater that put on instead! The room was so cold all night. So paid £144 without breakfast, but i had to pay extra £30 which i had to because i had to give my baby girl something to eat. Very poor quality and no many options

My partner and I checked into West Lodge Park Hotel in Barnet on Friday. At the beggining we had no issues with the hotel room and found it very nice and clean. However, on the day of the wedding we wanted to take a shower and brown water came out with black/brown coloured bits coming out. We went to reception and informed them about the state of the water and they explained they were having problems with it. The room and staff has been great otherwise but because we had a wedding to attend we had to shower in this water as the other option was to not shower at all and I unfortunately have an infection because of it. The water was initially brown but became somewhat clear but the small chunks continued coming out. I took videos of this however the website will not let me upload them so I have taken screenshots.
