The 8th of February will be a very memorable day for my son & myself. It was both our birthdays & what better place to cerebrate with family & friends, than no other place than the West Lodge Park. I live locally and often pop-in for coffee. I just love the service, staff & the ambience of this stunning place. Mr. Ilie Gorea & his wife, did us proud. Service was outstanding as was the cream tea. We hired a room, to accommodate our guests & the atmosphere was great. We couldn’t have been more pleased. A big thank you to the married couple, who certainly made our day!

Having visited this hotel often for afternoon tea or lunch, we decided to stay here for a milestone anniversary a few months ago, the anniversary package offered was fantastic our room was beautiful and really spacious, we had a bottle of champagne and gorgeous bouquet of flowers in our room the attention to detail was wonderful, great dinner and breakfast included in this deal, made our occasion so special. We decided to return for a winter escape deal that was on offer last week, our room had beautiful views of the incredible grounds, again dinner in the restaurant was of a high standard, great quality food and lovely staff, breakfast never disappoints too. What makes this hotel so special is the staff, the beautiful surroundings that are immaculately kept and the tradition and history of the hotel is part of its charm. We will return again as we are always made to feel welcome and looked after. Any query I had before my bookings or requests were dealt with so quickly, professionally and in such a friendly manner by Sharon, I must thank her for that. Whether for a meal, a stay or just a coffee (& you get a cookie too) I highly recommend a visit to this hotel a total hidden gem

Booked early evening and advised that I'd be there between 10pm and 11pm,still within valid check-in time, due to an urgent meeting request and long journey. Had to wait a few minutes at reception with no pager or bell, so then rang hotel phone number and someone came shortly after,to answer the phone. Staff pleasant. My room was upstairs, including needing to go up quite a few stairs and through a very low doorway (5ft perhaps), but room was quite good. Bathroom looked old but clean. Reasonable price and good location for an NHS hospital meeting.

My mother and her friends (ladies in their senior years) regularly lunch in the bar area. The grounds are beautiful and in the summer the outside seating area is lovely. Today, 10.12.25, I want to give positive feedback to the kind and professional waitress who looked after the ladies and organised appropriate seating for them, in spite of the bar area being busy. That was much appreciated. I felt confident when I left them that they would be well looked after. The young lady on reception today was also professional, friendly and welcoming. I suppose that the prices are appropriate for the lovely venue, but cutbacks to the little extras like crisps and reduced salad garnish with sandwiches are a shame. Still my mother’s (92) favourite venue for meeting up with her friends.
