We had a lovely stay at this hotel. All of the staff were very kind and helpful. The gardens were beautiful. Our room was comfortable and well appointed. We enjoyed the breakfast in the morning. It was great to be away from the city a little bit in such a peaceful place. We would stay there again anytime

It’s a nice traditional hotel with friendly staff. Bedroom felt dated and there was no mini-fridge for the milk but bathroom had been modernised and was much better. Extensive Beautiful gardens in bloom with many flowers so it was very strange none of them had been cut for inside vases on tables - in the arrival lobby there are unattractive tired dried flower arrangements which don’t set the scene well! Nice touch to have morning coffee in warming pots and takeaway cups available in the lobby Very good breakfast. A comfortable stay but not worth £500 a night!

The gardens/grounds were some of the best I have ever seen. The hotel is historic and it feels that way. Absolutely beautiful. The location is a little outside town so be prepared to take cabs or have a car. The bar was unfortunately not well staffed and during our stay and you have to chase down an employee to get a beverage.

Property is very cute! Loved sitting outside in the gardens, beautiful! Bartender was the BEST! Can't say enough about him. He made our evening there just perfect! Went above and beyond on our cocktails. We stayed in a guest cottage...was a little disappointed in this. Bed was very hard...would recommend a mattress topper to help with the comfort. I would also recommend staying inside the lodge...which our friends did. Great location...super close to town! We would stay there again...just not in the cottage.

Wonderful property within a 5 minute cab ride into town. Be advised that there is no elevator or air conditioning. They have beautiful gardens and the bartender was excellent and made the best mojitos!

We had a lovely room in the gatehouse which was clean and had everything we needed. You won’t be disappointed with the food. Quality tasty and well prepared and presented. Simply delicious. Very close to the centre of St Andrews but not walking distance. Plenty of car parking at the time we visited. If you are not a golfer try the 18 hole putting course, lots of fun.

We had a wonderful stay- the property was as charming as advertised and 10 mins from the old course... and we adored our bartender Jonathan. Great experience!

Beautiful 10 acre gardens to wander in before dinner.

Enjoyed our stay. Room was lovely, as was the snacks provided. Walked around their gardens, and had a fabulous meal in the dining room. Sarah was our server and such a delight.

Nice feel to this hotel. The staff were very good and helpful. The food was excellent. The lodge we stayed in was a little tired but clean and pleasant enough. Overall we had a nice stay.

Stay in Rufflets Hotel, St Andrews (27-30th Apr 26) for quick break. Good Stuff: Hotel in beautiful surroundings just approx 30mins walk from centre of St Andrews. Beautiful gardens to explore and plenty of free parking for car. Staff all pleasant (though service sometimes slow, possibly due to being understaffed for hotel size). Bedroom good size with added touches of coffee/tea facilities, bottled water and shortbread, which were all replenished daily. Bathroom spacious and added bonus of freestanding bath (which my wife appreciated) and separate shower cubicle with quality towels, body gel, shampoo etc. Extra touch of hooks on doors (always something I look for) to hang up outdoor coats was appreciated; the number of Scottish 5-star hotels I have stayed in that do not do this is amazing. In a country prone to regular rain showers where do they expect you to put your wet coats 😫 I have been forced in past to hang on back of chairs or over top of doors (though not an issue on this occasion) Bad Stuff: Stayed in Room 36 and we found the bed to be a bit soft for our liking and view was it had seen better days. The bathroom although tastefully decorated was looking a bit tired and wallpaper coming loose unnecessarily in several place (a bit of paste and 10mins would sort this). The shower ceiling was also crumbling in several areas and certainly looked unsightly and not expected in a 4-Star hotel. Quality of restaurant food was very disappointing and again expected better.

Rufflets was our favorite stay out of five different hotels in the UK. The whole experience was incredible! The staff is so wonderful and welcoming, the bar was cozy, and the breakfast was delicious. My family all agrees that this is the one hotel we want to go back to!

Great food and staff, relaxing hotel .

Everything about this hotel is amazing. Cleanliness, friendly staff, food. Could not complain about anything.

The room was large and well kept, the bathtoom though updated had plaster peeling from the ceiling (If the fan had its own switch/supply instead of needing the lights to be on for it to run this could help). The main hotel was well maintained .Staff very friendly and helpful.
