Great time. Comfy beds, excellent location!

Spacious room, 5 minutes from Parliament square.., perfectly situated

Hotel was in a lovely area and close enough to walk to downtown, staff very friendly and the bar and restaurant offered a good selection of food. Only negatives were no tea and coffee facilities in room but were available in the morning in the reception area and there are steps up to the hotel entrance. Would definitely stay here again.

Yes, the hotel is old, so lacks some of the conveniences of a modern chain hotel and the rooms are smaller; but the room was clean and very comfortable with a spacious bathroom with large shower. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The on-site pub and restaurant are excellent. The location is also excellent, very quiet, and only a short walk to the Legislative Assembly Building, the Royal BC Museum and the Empress Hotel. Other harbour-front attractions are only a few minutes further walk, or a few minutes away by Uber. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.

I liked everything about James Bay Inn. Old, with lots of character. Clean. No air conditioning, but windows open and there was a fan. Supper in the pub was very good.

Charming hotel, old but well maintained. Clean and in a quiet location.

The hotel is very old giving it a lot of charm. For people who have mobility issues, I do not recommend this hotel even if you get a room on the first floor as there are many steps to climb up to the lobby. The hotel is decorated elegantly, the rooms are clean and have everything you need. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Great location and walking distance to so many beautiful things in Victoria! Definitely would stay here again.

The room and hotel was very clean. The staff were very friendly and wonderful. We were on bicycles and there is bicycle storage and luggage storage. There was complimentary coffee, tea, and hot water in the mornings and ice water all day long. Great location!! Great place to stay!!

My family of four loved staying in this charming historic hotel. The staff was wonderful, and the hotel was walkable to many lovely sights and restaurants.

Staff at the front desk was exceptional! Super friendly and ready to greet you and help you the moment they see you. Bike storage was just an old garage, but we felt it was very secure. Hard to find hotels in Victoria that allow e-bikes. Quaint and old fashioned, great vibe if you love older buildings. We liked the Emily Carr artwork and the antique furniture in the lobby. Had some great beers in the pub. Distance to downtown was fine. Only a few blocks to the Parliament and the Empress. Standard room was nice. Wished there was a little bit more counter or shelf space for toiletries . Bed was comfy. We'll be back!

We opted to stay in one of their two-bedroom cottages since it was just a bit more expensive than getting rooms .. and what a great choice that was! Parking right outside our door, a full kitchen, and probably more space than we needed. The beds were comfortable, and really it was just a great place to stay. Wish we could have stayed longer. Their restaurant was great too!
