We drove from Prince Edward Island to Toronto with our three children, having booked our stay well in advance. What greeted us at the front desk was one of the most frustrating and disrespectful customer service experiences I have ever had.
The front desk agent, Bernadette, could not locate our reservation. Despite providing our confirmation number, showing our email, and opening the booking app, she refused to search by anything other than my name. She insisted there was no booking and that all rooms were full. When I mentioned we had driven from PEI with three kids, she smirked. When I asked what was funny, she offered no apology.
It was only after my husband stepped up to the desk — ready to walk out — that she suddenly “found” our reservation. She then asked us whether we preferred the first or second floor, making it clear the rooms had been available all along. She allowed our children to cry in the lobby rather than simply admit her mistake and fix it.
We have made this trip to Toronto annually for years. We will not be returning to this location, and I would strongly caution families to be aware of what kind of welcome they may receive here.
