I mean the sheets were clean but the floors were not. I found the guest before us had left a used vape and dirty socks on the floor. Cleaning staff didn't take care of that before we took possession of the room. I notified front desk staff and they did nothing other than a passive apology with no follow through. I wasn't impressed as I have a 9 month old and that wasn't appropriate to find a vape of all things in the room.

My sister and I stayed at the Tonquin for a ski weekend at Marmot, and it had been quite a while since my last visit. The rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming. Because the hotel is an older building, the walls are quite thin, so I’d recommend bringing earplugs—especially if you’re staying during a busy weekend. It may have been louder than usual during our stay because there was a minor hockey tournament in town. Our room was also extremely warm the first night, even though the heat wasn’t on. The next day, we opened a window, which helped bring the temperature down to a more comfortable level. Overall, it was a decent stay with a few quirks to be aware of!

The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, which we really appreciated. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The only thing that truly affected our experience was the pillows — they were huge! Because of that, we didn’t sleep at all the first night. We had to ask for standard-sized pillows so we could actually lie down instead of sitting propped up against a giant pillow. The rooms are also very warm. Great for people who get cold easily, but for us it was a bit too much — we ended up opening the window and completely turning off the heating. 😉 Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would still enjoy the hotel in the future.

The room was perfect. Hotel was quiet. The sauna , pool , and hot tub were very nice after a long day. I will recommend the Tonquin inn to friends and family.

Room was clean, had a dog with us. Room had a dog bed in it along with some dog treats and a card with the dogs name on it. (Nice touch) The restaurant was great. The reason for the average rating was because of prior to arriving I had booked two rooms as we were travelling with a 89 year old and wanted to be next door to each other. On the phone they stated it wouldn’t be a problem. Upon arrival we were assigned a room on the bottom floor (dog room)and the other room was upstairs on the back of the building. Stated they couldn’t accommodate us to be side by side, but stated they were only at 60% occupancy.

Good bed, hot tub, and environment

Room was large and clean. The walls are paper thin and the floors squeak when the people walked around in the room on either side. Tons of kids yelling and running around. Could not even get close to the pool or hot tubs “kiddie pools” If your going for a drinking weekend of with kids - you will have fun. Not a place to relax

The walls are paper thin! You can hear EVERYTHING and it is very noisy. Other than that, it’s a nice place, clean and staff is very friendly. Did not sleep for my 3 nights there.

The room they gave us was not 2 queens, it was 2 singles and they had no other rooms available and we were charged for the 2 queen room.
