Really special place! Feels super historic/authentic while having a fun, whimsical amount of French kitsch. Feels like a members-only club. Bathrooms are particularly lovely, beds are comfortable, lots of closet space, and the staff is really friendly. Be weary that breakfast often isn't included in your rate and the wifi was a little slow for us. Although this was no bother - the only downside is that we didn't see the ghost of Napoleon, a former hotel guest ;)

Would struggle to find critism. Particulary enjoyed small plaza at entrance, and for quite location offset from Palace de Pape. Superior room worth the cost.

This is a wonderful old hotel with a great history, located just inside the walls of old Avignon. The service was exceptional with an array of very helpful staff. Breakfast was lovely as was dinner in the courtyard of the hotel. The location made for easy walking within the old city, and was also easy to exit the city with our rental car to visit other towns in Provence.

J’ai été très surprise d’apprendre que la seule langue pratiquée à Avignon était l’anglais. Ayant un master en anglais, cela me convient quand je vais à Londres, mais pas en France.

This beautiful old property is within the walls of Avignon. Walking distance to all the restaurants and attractions. The property was well kept and the staff was superb!

The hotel itself has undeniable charm—an elegant, old-style luxury with a lot of character. Our room was particularly spacious and included a cute little balcony. The location is also excellent: perfectly situated to explore Avignon on foot. However, our overall experience was unfortunately marred by a serious lack of consideration for guests’ comfort. We paid around €460 for the night, expecting a restful and high-end stay. Instead, on the morning of May 1st— a public holiday—we were woken up at 9 a.m. (possibly even earlier) by what can only be described as construction-site noise: loud banging, metal being cut, and heavy machinery sounds. When I opened the window, I could see that the noise was coming from some sort of renovation or construction work within the hotel itself. We eventually got up and decided to check out earlier than planned. During check-out, the receptionist politely asked how our stay had been, and I responded honestly, expressing that it was unacceptable to disturb guests with such intense noise at that hour, especially on a holiday morning. Her response was quite dismissive—she mentioned they were “installing mirrors or something like that”—and proceeded to charge me an additional €26.60 for the use of the parking without acknowledging the inconvenience we experienced.

Nice location, easy walking distance to all main attractions in the old town. Great restaurant- don’t discount it - it’s a must experience. Very friendly reception staff and prompt valet parking.

On check-in, we were escorted to a room and we started unpacking. The receptionist later knocked and told us we had to be moved to a different room, as she made a mistake. We then had to repack and move everything ourselves to a lower tier room. Despite many rooms of both tiers being empty, they insisted on moving us. It was rude and we do not recommend this establishment.

Restaurant lost its Michelin star and it was clear why. Food was good, service not so much. Front desk and concierge staff was excellent.

Our stay was ok. Not sure of the 5 star rating. The breakfast was very average. We found the neighborhood to be loud. The room was stuffy and warm. We were told it was a transitional time and that air conditioning was not available for this season. Didn’t seem like a premium experience.

Had an amazing stay! The hotel was comfortable, clean, and full of charm. The staff went above and beyond—especially Patrick at the front, who was incredibly helpful and friendly throughout our visit. Would definitely recommend this place to other travelers looking for a warm and welcoming stay!

Excellent location. Close to everything that we needed to get to. Lovely courtyard in the hotel. Room we had was big and spacious - more than big enough for the two of us. Would recommend staying here.

The artistic look, the garden and the immense care of the entire staff , the breakfast choice. The chocolat chaud, the cleaneliness of the room and premises Everything had to be praised and nothing To be criticized. And that is the only thing which bothers me.

This historic property has large, comfortable rooms, serves a nice breakfast, and has a relaxing bar for an evening glass of wine. I didn’t try the hotel restaurant, but I did have a spectacular meal at a Michelin starred restaurant, Pollen, just around the corner.
