Lovely 2 night stay at beautiful chateau in the French countryside. Great restaurant. We had dinner and breakfast both days and food was excellent, especially dinner Swimming pool was lovely. Really warm which in December was very welcome. Our rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable A problem with one of the rooms was resolved quickly and efficiently

One of the best hotels I've stayed at in France due to the staff exceptional service. They were friendly and very professional. Dinner was superb and the Venue was beautiful.. My room was a little cold but quickly sorted by the staff

Overpriced. With some good staff. Great receptionist. Lovely bar tender.. The castle building is very grand. Perhaps the bedrooms in it are grand too. The rooms in the large annex building are not grand. They have low ceilings, they feel tired, they are characterless. The pool in this building is not well designed either. Restaurant has ambiance and character but the food for dinner is mediocre. Breakfast buffet quite terrible and not worth the money. Overall, the place lacks coherence. It has the feel of a chain-run hotel where nothing is done with much heart.

What a great find! We absolutely loved our stay here at the Château. Situated in a rural area, so quiet & peaceful. The grounds are amazing with lots to offer those who may wish to play tennis, swim or simply relax in beautiful grounds. Our comfortable double room was up 2 flights of stairs (no lift) in the chateau. We did not use the restaurant as it was fully booked on the only night we wanted to dine. We will definitely book in advance on our next visit. Apart from a couple of sharing boards no other food was on offer apart from the restaurant. A short 30 minute journey from Calais makes Château Tilques an ideal hotel for exploring the local area or to start a longer onward journey. We will definitely return soon.

The Chateau is lovely, with some nice grounds and a swimming pool too. It is a little run down and outdated, most of the furnishings are quite cheap; in some areas comparable to a premier inn and not ‘luxury’. It would have been nice to see furnishings to match the style and period of the castle. Our ‘comfort room’ on the top floor was tiny, and the price didn’t feel justified despite being ‘in the castle’. Nice pool and nice bar downstairs. The main redeeming quality was that the dinner was absolutely sublime. (Dinner table must be booked in advance) We almost didn’t eat at the restaurant as we felt disappointed by our room however we’re so glad we did. The quality of the food for just 35€pp was fantastic. Breakfast the following morning fine, a continental style buffet. Would have liked to see some hot dishes on the menu to match the night before however appreciate it’s not always feasible. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, in particular all of the dining staff. Ideal location for Le Shuttle.
