Ya 5 años quedándonos en este hotel y siempre regresamos contentos . Esta vez tuvimos 2 casos de emergencia y siempre estuvieron ahí rápido y atentos para ayudarnos . Gracias Barceló al personal especialmente a Fabiola y Mariana

This is an excellent resort with multiple facilities and great quality and variety of foods and drinks.Is our second year and we’ll most likely return next year. Highly recommend.

Rooms were clean and well maintained

Staff is top notch. Property is very well kept and beautiful. Food buffet options are great. The only suggestion about the food is that the rice should be cooked a little more; it was seasoned well but some grains were still crunchy to the bite. Overall, I had a very good and relaxing stay.

We celebrated my mom 60th bday and thr entire staff was super friendly

There needs to be more variety in the food options. The menu is very repetitive, and there aren’t many Mexican food choices available. The room service is not include

We stay at the Premium-room level, and we liked the location of our room closed to the swimming pool, beach and gym areas. The room is advertised as "oceanfront" but this is not the same as "ocean view". We were located on the ground floor with no visibility to the beach. In my opinion, the property's beach is sub-standard compared to other beaches in this area. What is most impressive of this hotel is the amount and variety of family activities and restaurants. Our large family (about 15 people of total, ranging from kids to seniors) had a great time since there is something for everyone! Go-karts, paddle and pickleball, gym and spa, and buffet and specialty restaurants, swimming pool and beach and entertainment activities. And most of all, the staff, from lobby, restaurants, service, cleaning, is absolutely superb! I think this is what makes the Barcelo Maya hotel an excellent choice for a family vacation. Thank you.

We travel with family to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was a mix of adults, teens and little ones. We did not want to leave. The staff was amazing at all levels. We called ahead to ask for some arrangements regarding the beds and little ones traveling. By the time we arrived the rooms were as expected. The crib was already setup. Maintenance keeps up with everything. Cleaning the grounds even some people working late at night by the pool and by the beach. Sargassum started half way trough our stay but cleaning process is ongoing. Rooms and hallways always clean. Other facilities like the Spa, restaurants, lobby and restrooms were always clean. The restaurants were great. Variety of food and not all the same for the buffet. Something different every day but the ones people like were always available. Staff is amazing as well. Always helpful trying to accommodate our big group the best way possible. Tables can seat 6 max. at the buffet but they always found ways to keep us close. Bars had plenty of good options alcoholic and non. We enjoyed some good times at the one at the lobby which had some live music. There are plenty of activities and shows for everyone and they truly try to make things interesting and appealing for all families. Fantasia and Tropicalissimo were good. Also lots of water related sports right there. Only downside was the rocky areas close to the beach at some spots. Water shoes so your toes won’t get hurt and you’ll be fine.

Room was always cleaned. Staff was very helpful, employee Sadie provided amenities around the hotel. buffet/food was amazing. Drinks were top notch. Shows were awesome especially the Micheal Jackson actor, great imitation performance.

Todo estuvo increíble el servicio la comida las actividades nocturnas muy lindas muy acogedoras las áreas la limpieza de las habitaciones todo el tiempo estuvieron limpiando la atención al personal fue excelente más que satisfecho con todo los servicios que ofrece el hotel nuestra experiencia fue muy buena lo recomiendo a todos

Great rooms, great pools, great restaurants. Beach is really nice but has rocks. Bring water shoes, you will thank me for this advise. But overall, amazing vacation time awaits.

El hotel está muy bueno. El restaurante el Kyoto es excelente y sus meseras son demasiado atentas se preocupan de complacer cada antojo. El spa esta increíble, no se lo pueden perder ha sido el mejor de toda mi vida.Quiero agradecer a Reyna por el masaje exquisito. A Juan Carlos , Gamalier y Mercedes por tanta atención en el restaurante, son todos muy atentos y amables. Al chefs Carlos por la comida divina. Se los recomiendo. Fuimos viaje familiar y estuvo todo excelente. Buena relación calidad precio. El hotel tiene playa, el sport bar muy bueno, todo increíble . Muchas gracias 😊mi esposo cumplió años y le enviaron un detalle hermoso a la habitación. En fin este hotel se preocupa por llenar de detalles a sus huéspedes. Me hacían la habitación a diario. 🥰❤️gracias a todos y a cada uno de sus trabajadores.🙏

Great variety, but restaurant booking and shuttle tracking need work The staff here were very helpful and truly tried their best, though the language barrier made communication a bit challenging at times. A huge plus for us was having access to the other restaurants and buffets within the Barceló group, and booking activities like water sports or a slot at the tennis and racquetball courts was incredibly easy. However, the reservation system for the à la carte restaurants definitely needs improvement. They are always fully booked by the time you check in, leaving you to just hope for a last-minute cancellation. We managed to eat at Marenostrum, but the service was incredibly slow—likely due to kitchen bottlenecks rather than the waitstaff. Lastly, it would be a massive help if the resort shuttle had a real-time GPS tracker. We ended up waiting over 30 minutes not knowing when or where the shuttle would show up. In that heat, we actually could have walked to our destination sooner if we had just known the status. Overall, a nice stay with great options, but the dining and transportation logistics could be smoother!
