Great stay

Nice, clean room. Lovely breakfast. Good position.

Generally ok, but trip was spoilt by 3 fire alarms, one interrupting our breakfast. Our room was very warm, we couldn’t turn the heating down so had to sleep with the window open and listen to traffic noise

The family room was really big and had everything you'd need for an over night. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area and transport options etc. Chef was great in preparing an individual option for one of our post who is undergoing treatment and couldn't eat the buffet breakfast. Would definitely book again.

ideal location and great rooms with brilliant breakfast. Just a pity on our trip there was scant if any hot water.

Nice stay. Next to tram stop and short walk to Piccadilly Gardens. Rooms a bit dated. Bed was far too soft for my liking. Staff pleasant and welcoming. Nice lobby area.

Great stay and location

The room was not up to standard even after paying for upgrade. No rugs in room and unable to hang clothes due to cabinet under clothes rail which made no sense. Staff were not too interested in assisting us either with upgrade. Shame really :(

Entrance lobby, bar, breakfast area was lovely nice decor, spacious & lovely young staff members, very polite & welcoming. Room was very clean but it was a bit drab could do with updating & made brighter, didn’t like the lighting, no usb sockets, bed ok pillows lumpy. Tv stood on table would have been better mounted on the wall. Very stuffy room no aircon & couldn't open window. Bathroom was spotless, had to stand in bath for a shower, dont like shower curtains as they stick to u when showering, shower itself was great nice & powerful. Toilet was very creaky when sitting on it again lighting wasnt very bright. Hotel was in a fab location 3 mins walk from china town, all walkable locations from here.

We had an excellent stay, friendly and helpful staff, such comfy beds and the breakfast was just fantastic.

Great hotel and service

Staying at The Alan was a total break from real life in the best possible way. The decor was so entirely me & beautifully industrial but with an artist’s garret edge to it. Staff could not have been more helpful. When I asked for more water they were up within 5mins (you can’t fill the kettle from the basin) & when I said I had had problems the first night with the room being cold they sent a maintenance man up within ten mins who completely took the thermostat apart, repaired it & stood with a thermometer gun thing pointing at the vent til it hit the correct temperature & explained to me how to keep it consistent. Shower was hot and wonderful. I hated to leave.

Room size and decor great, friendly staff. Very noisy - room not soundproof at all. Breakast was disappointing and not worth the money.

Room was very cold. Shower almost flooded day 1. No sound proofing. Woken up 2 nights in a row with very noisy music and loud voices at 4am lasting an hour or more. No tissues in room. No body lotion. No iron. Lack of shelving and no desk to work at.

rooms are always clean and tidy however always asks to be something wrong, previously had problems with the water pressure and temperature, this time the or the shower cord was broken so water was spraying out the side getting everything wet and there was also a nasty sewage smell in the room

Good quality hotel in the centre of Manchester and I have stayed here several times. Rooms are spacious and well equipped and the hotel is clean. Good bar area and the breakfast and food in general is good. Staff are friendly and attentive. The “industrial” finish might not suit everyone but I like it! Overall a good quality modern hotel in the centre of Manchester that provides good value for money.
