I was expecting to stay at the Prestige on the water not on the road. When checking out I expresses this to the front desk. She explained that am email was sent out explaining the difference, no amenities close to the train and not at the “resort”. However you do get to use the amenities at resort which is a 10 min walk along the water. The staff were amazing and friendly but room is not same quality I am used to with staying at the Prestige Hotels. Our stay was pleasant, the balcony was nice but the train goes by twice; late evening and around 4AM. View is pretty and a Save On Foods is nice and close.

Excellent location that’s only a short walk to shopping and waterfront parks. The bed and supportive pillows provided a great night’s rest. Other than a train that passes by once or twice a day, it’s very quiet and relaxing.

Everything was good, except parking was sometimes an issue due to narrow stalls and a few large trucks parked there that made them even narrower.

Lovely views. They prepare you for the potential train going by and even provide ear plugs. Comfy beds. Great location.

Nice hotel in a convenient location in town. There are train tracks behind the hotel and the staff will tell you that a couple of trains may pass through the night. I only heard one and it wasn’t a big deal.

Wish we wouldn't have stayed here. OK hotel, but here are some of the things we experienced. - Train tracks 50 feet from the room and train horn during night. (they mention it when you arrive, but that's a bit late) - Public patio that overlapped our private balcony and window thus people could sit and look into our room and climb over a 3 ft rail if they wanted onto our balcony - Towel rack falling down and tub that takes 10 minutes to drain - Desk with no lamp nor plug-in - Loud air conditioner - Very little and very tight parking - Music played at reception obviously to please front desk attendant, not customers (OK...now I'm sounding like an old man) Not worth $184 / night

We had a fantastic stay at Prestige Inn Nelson, the only room available when booking was the basement room and we were upgraded to the room on the second floor when we arrived. Room overlooking the lake and mountains, great comfortable mattress, comfortable showers. We've asked for dinner recommendations and the suggestions were amazing - we ended up going back to the places a few times. From super helpful and friendly staff, to comfort, to easy parking, everything contributed to our awesome stay.

The room was clean, and the view was awesome. But the Balcony light isn't able to be turned off, so it's very light in the room all night.Had a very hard time sleeping! The train is literally right there, so very noisy. The lobby doesn't offer coffee and were told there was no creamer available for the coffee in the room. We definitely will not be staying there again.

This is the sister hotel to the resort of the same name. It's a "good enough" basic place to stay as far as the facilities go, but you do get access to the main hotel facilities, and most importantly (as far as my kids were concerned) the indoor pool. The place is showing its age a bit, for instance the bathroom sink wouldn't drain properly, but generally it was fine. The train tracks are around a 100 feet away and the train does blow its horn for the level crossing. It is loud but only happened a couple of times at night. My kids slept through it no problem. One thing to note about Nelson is the lack of franchise restaurants - if you want Timmies or McDonald's you'll have to drive a half hour to Castlegar. There is no included breakfast buffet at the hotel, so if you have fickle kids or don't want to pay $80 to feed a family breakfast then you'll need to drive a bit.

The staff was very friendly, the hotel was clean and the location was near the water. The parking lot however was a nightmare. Spots are spaced so close together, there is not enough spots if every room was occupied. It took us an hour to fit a rav4 and truck into spots that would fit without the risk of the car beside hitting us. If you drive a larger vehicle, I don’t recommend booking here solely based on the parking spots. It wasn’t a great experience for the start of our stay. We also had to then walk everywhere to not risk losing our parking spots
