Booked for the hotel facilities but the hotel facilities were under renovation, this was not made clear when booking , hotel tried to make up for it with a bar credit but it ruined the reason we went, hotel is a little tired

The staff were lovely. The beds were comfortable and the pool was really warm. The grounds are beautiful with a stunning view out to sea. On the flip side things needed tlc. The room was apparently an updated room but things were broken or old and the room had no heating other than one small electric radiator that looked like it had been there 30 years. For a modern room the TV had seen better days. Took me back 20 years! The food was heavily overpriced, especially the breakfasts. It was a mediocre buffet breakfast at £26pp!! I've had far better at a premier inn.

This place is deceptive. The whole country manor image draws you in. Then you find out the rooms are out the back and are no better than a two star roadside motel. Breakfast restaraunt feels like a commercial cafeteria although food ok. Very clean and staff are outstanding. However you are paying four star prices for two star accommodation. The stars are because they have a pool and a spa not because they have nice accommodation. Very tired and disappointing. Overall poor and overpriced.

Beautiful looking property with excellent gardens and view of the water The actual rooms are mainly not in this building but adjacent in smaller purpose built rooms.

Lovely surroundings and nice place. Breakfast was not as good as there were no plates, tables were not being cleared quickly, had to wait a long time for a table, staff milling around looking busy but not appearing to do much.

Interesting historic main building set in beautiful grounds with views of IOW. Good facilities. All staff helpful and friendly. Our hotel room was in a lodge type building in the grounds. Spacious but dated. Bathroom has seen better days. Good food but very expensive. Lovely dining room, beautifully set tables but spoiled by grotty menus covered in finger marks and smears.

It had easy access to the room but I didn’t ask for a walk in shower so we could not use the facilities. Our own fault. We were in the area for a party so did not use restaurants or spa facilities. My husband fell out of bed as he has Parkinson's disease and we were helped by one very special, kind young man, Stephen, who picked him up and made him comfortable in bed. Also called back to check things were okay. Other staff checked us in the morning and were very kind. There was no fault with the hotel but the staff made everything much better for us.

Check in very smooth and lady at desk very happy and helpful, both rooms very clean and fit for purpose, room cleaned daily to a very good standard. Breakfast was plentiful and staff exceptional. All in all a lovely couple of days. Will definitely return

Our room was really large and had a balcony which was great. We appreciated the coffee pod machine and the fan (it was a hot day when we stayed). The decor was somewhat old fashioned and the bathroom was in need of an upgrade. Lovely hotel grounds with a fantastic view over the Solent. We enjoyed the outdoor pool.

Linen & room clean . Great water pressure with shower. Lovely to have Birthday card & gift. Outside stairways looked like some needed replacing. Brilliant breakfast , but dead & alive flies evident on inside of windows.

The description is very misleading as it seems to be a beautiful country house and yet the accommodation is in these very basic modern huts. The pool also appears to serve as a public leisure centre so it’s full of kids and so busy that it’s hard to even get a seat despite being a guest of the hotel. The changing rooms were filthy with water all over the floor and there were no facilities around the pool area for any drinks or refreshments. Our room was not clean with an empty beer can left in the cabinet and dirty hand prints all over the mirror. It was very disappointing and I would not recommend this location.

Beautiful, old building set in lovely gardens. There was a lot of open space and the accommodation was well spread out. It was nice to have a terrace to sit and enjoy a coffee. The Spa was very nice but I can imagine it gets very busy at certain times of the day.
