Sauna not available only a few spots per evening, room was spacious and very comfortable and clean. Staff looked after a fridge issue promptly. Great views and nice happy hour in the pub.

Stayed in the King bed with kitchenette. Very nice well renovated room and a beautiful property. Better than anticipated.

Beautiful location with views from the restaurants. We brought our little dog and were able to eat at the pub when the patio was closed due to cold weather. Everyone was very nice and friendly. Great place.

we were greeted by a superb concerige Very Friendly and kind ,as for The Sunday front concerige to say the least Friendly we left Sunday morning to have breakfast and we were locked out our rooms ?. No explanations the rooms were paid until check out Monday..other than that we had a wonderful stay and will return again as previous years ..

The staff were friendly and helpful. We were given a free room upgrade. The unit was clean and the bed was comfortable. The unit was somewhat bereft of decor. It could use some nature inspired artwork. The buildings are showing their age and large sections of the grounds need work but there were some lovely flower beds and planters. We enjoyed our supper on the deck of the restaurant. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Our server was very personable. The pool water was warm but unfortunately there were no clean pool towels and according to another guest, the towels had been asked for 2 hours earlier. I really liked the bath and lotion products provided in the unit. I asked the desk staff if I could buy a bottle of the lotion and house staff was sent to get one for me. The scenery of the water and mountains was beautiful. We enjoyed an evening and morning walk along the waterfront and the pier. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and plan to return.

The rooms were good and clean, the view of cruise ships was awesome!! The outdoor pool was nice, but they let the towel bin run empty. The wood burning sauna was very nice, have to book your time slot. We played tennis with the rackets and balls they supplied. The staff in the restaurant were great, our server the first night was his first day and he was fabulous!! They gave us a bag of ice for our cooler too. I will stay there again.

The lodge rooms are undated. Beds are low to ground with 5" wide trim around them, making them not easy to get in and out of when you're older. We like the environment friendly soaps. The tiny fridge is ok, they're only about 1/3 of the size of a bar fridge. Nice size TV and AC worked great. No hair dryer though which was too bad. Said our room had a garden view... but it's just the pool. Restaurant prices are high and food is average. Sauna booking is required, so if you're staying and want to use it, book days before you come. Lots of fruit/sand flies in the evenings. Seen lots of cruise ships in the evening and seals as the tide came in both bonuses.

We always enjoy our regular stays at Painters Lodge and really appreciate the recent upgrades and refreshing to the rooms interior.

Our room at Painter’s Lodge had recently been upgraded with new paint, furniture and bathroom. It looked and seemed very pleasant. We requested a 2 Queen bed room but received a Family suite. The bed was very comfortable (it seemed brand new), but there was no mattress protector and the bottom sheet was a flat sheet with knots tied in the corners to keep it in-place! The set-up of the room is a bit strange. There are no chairs or couch in the room so the only place to sit is on the bed. The master bedroom is upstairs and doesn’t have a TV, mirror or anywhere to hang clothes. it did have a chest of draws. Downstairs had a wardrobe space with an ironing board, but no iron. The fridge is on top of a tallboy. There’s no phone in the room and no compendium. The exterior and grounds at Painter’s Lodge are in very bad condition and neglected. The pool area looked okay, but the spas were empty. There gardens were full of weeds and the grass needed to be mowed. There was a table and chairs outside our room but the table was broken. We didn’t eat at the restaurant. The menu looked unappealing. We had have a couple of cocktails at the bar. It has a pleasant outlook but the drinks were inconsistent. The first round were great, but the second round (same drink) was very disappointing and not at all like the first drink. Staff seemed disorganised and would benefit from some training and supervision.

Beautiful place! Room was nicely uodated and clean. My only complaint was being woken up at 6 am for an hour listening to the people above walk around loudly then a garbage truck or truck of some sort beeping backing up. Overall a beautiful resort but could use some soundproofing, unless you are an early riser!

We stayed in the three bedroom cottage, which we really enjoyed. The ocean view pub was very nice & had good food, but we look forward to the re-opening of the dining room. The cabin was nicely renovated & equipped, but there was a couple of very minor oddities: The location of the refrigerator & microwave was a bit strange, they need to be enclosed in a proper cabinet. Also, we couldn't understand why no one had removed the manufacturers large paper stickers on the nice new double pane windows. Bottom line, though, we would love to go back !
