Good room at the front with balcony, although too hot to enjoy! Air con was a must and meant a good night's sleep. Breakfast was excellent with wide range of choices. The food in the restaurant was also of a very high quality. Parking excellent and easy. Hotel well served with No16 bus which meant easy and cheap to get into City centre. Staff were excellent throughout our stay, both helpful and friendly. The pool was lovely to use although our stay did coincide with a dance competition and also an American girls soccer tour so the area was crowded at times and availability of sunbeds limited. However, we enjoyed our stay and would comeback to enjoy San Sabastian once more.

The Barceló Costa Vasca is my go-to hotel in San Sebastián. Located in a quiet neighbourhood, it’s just a 5-minute walk from La Concha Beach (Kontxa Hondartza) and around 10 minutes by bus to the Old Town, making it an excellent base for exploring the city. The hotel is also well connected, with two bus stops directly across the road. The No. 16 bus runs every 15 minutes, providing a quick and convenient journey into the Old Town. On-site facilities include a large outdoor swimming pool and a spacious gym. However, for a Barceló hotel, I expected better maintenance around the pool. Several of the sun umbrellas were broken, which made the area look a little shabby and detracted from the overall experience. If you’re travelling by car, the hotel also offers plenty of on-site parking in a large underground car park.

We had an amazing time (two adults and a teenager). The hotel's location is perfect for lounging by the pool, walking to the beach, and walking into the main town every night to find bars and restaurants. The local neighbourhood is good for local facilities like bakeries and pharmacies. Access to the gym and indoor pool is misleading; this is an additional cost, but the facilities are excellent. Breakfast is superb if this is important to you. The room was kept spotless by the housekeeping staff. No soap in the toilets by the pools was really disappointing for a hotel of this standing. We'll be going back.

Lovely clean hotel and well maintained spaces. Bar snacks and breakfast were lovely and so was the pool area, would happily return. Some really nice quieter spaces in both the breakfast area and bar/cafe too. Robes in the bedrooms would have been a welcome addition and a quicker way of getting pool towels rather than having to queue behind guests checking in.

Beautiful hotel with easy access to the beach. Wonderful breakfast. Swimming pool was not open despite excellent weather.

Hotel is close to the beach and the city center of San Sebastian. Fitness Center gym is not free. We had a few items of clothes washed and it was $134 Euros.

They have not maintained the property properly. Will never stay here again.

We didn't know that the pool was only open in June even though it was 30° outside. We only booked this hotel to use the pool and entertain the kids. We were so disappointed that it wasn't totally obvious on their website. Our room was so noisy. Hardly slept all week. Staff were pretty rude.

The room was very comfortable. The staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a quiet area not too near the centre or the main attractions.. A short bus ride or a taxi ride, but not in the centre of things. Sadly the pool was not open as it only does from June to the autumn. The gym pool (indoor) and their facilities can be used at extra daily cost.

Good location however, a 20-30 minute walk to city center. Buses nearby. Upon our arrival, they held our luggage until check in. However, at checkout, you have to use lockers in the hotel if you want storage at 4.5 E per hour. Internet was fine. Bed was fine. Pillows were way too mushy. Room could been cleaner.

The location was perfect. However the bathroom in our room smelled of mildew.. As a person allergic to mold, it caused a hacking cough throughout our stay— took us a while to figure out why I was coughing so much. Furthermore, the hotel was next door to a gym that began their demonstration/protest - starting at 7:00am - the loud noise of horns and sirens was constant beginning on the day we arrived 4/13 and still going on when we left. NOTE- we checked out before we were supposed to -checking out on 4/19. NOTE: We did mention this to the staff and their response was that they did not know when the protests would and that the demonstrators had the RIGHT to protest. BTW: Our room was right next door to the protests.. I took a video and recorded the loud noise — if you want us to s nd it to you… I’d be more than happy to. Since we left a day before we were supposed to the hotel said that adjustments could not be made due to the fact that we made the reservation through you. FYI- this was a planned with a date of start of the demonstration— would have been nice to receive a Buyer Be Aware notice so we could change hotels.

Fridge did not work struggled with the remote to change channels asked for batteries to be replace but this never happened

Breakfast was great. Our main issue was with the resturant and manager which would not accommodate for a child with special needs. We are not talking about a big accommodation just to order a dish from the child menue but allow the child to remain in an area allocated for the bar dining. We were perfectly happy to pay any additional fees and even order all our meals ifneeded. They still refused. Not very family friendly for children with special needs
