Second stay - the hotel is tired in many areas - some staff have poor English skills. The coffee at breakfast is terrible you need to buy from the bar then it's a good coffee. Car parking is on site and free.

This hotel has seen its better days. But that being said, it just isn’t kept that clean. There was a fresh stain on one of the hand towels and the glasses in the room were dirty. The shower was clean but the hardware was falling off the wall.

This property has great view of the ocean and so was our room. However the property is so dated, that the stains were everywhere. Water did not go through the sink and we had to walked down to ask them to fix because the phone didn’t work. The staff came to fix the sink Sébastien was very friendly though. He fixed the sink and even loaned his personal adopter so that we can charge our phone. The hotel adopter didn’t fit. The pool is large and new but the chairs smell bad. This is a very mixed property. Check-in was great, but check-out was not so much. We were offered a cold drink at check-in. During check-out, the receptionist told me my credit card didn’t work but it used the same card at check-in. She was very impatient as I was on the phone at the same time. Perhaps the hotel should staff up. She was not very happy that she had to manually enter my credit card number. It was under €100 that I spent at their restaurant and I am positive it was not my card issue. I am not going to stay at this hotel again for sure and would not recommend to fellow travellers.

Check in was great with friendly staff throughout the hotel. Aging hotel with incredible views. Our room 660 was an upgrade and had a double balcony. Close to ferry and bus station. A few places to eat nearby and a restaurant in the building. Beautiful infinity pool! Shower was filthy, needed a deep clean and re-grouting. Furnishings are very dated. Bed was super comfortable with thick and thin pillows! Fridge worked great and AC was very good.

First impressions not so good... Hotel appears to be in the middle of expansion/reconstruction whereby they are extending by adding what might have been a previous hotel/knocking through. While this is happening it's a bit disco-ordinated, with having to take two different lifts, with a fair walk between them, to get to my room. Second impression was that they don't have enough resources. We couldn't get any pool towels as they didn't have enough, it hasn't got them back from the laundry... Very odd. Never had that before. Third, they put on a free bus to go to Victoria... Only when we booked it they changed the time the bus would depart without telling us. Obviously 2 other couples had the same problem. Their response was "well it's free so why are you complaining", not understanding the reason behind the upset. Solution was to hide the sign and not talk to us any more... Bit petulant really. Once all those issues were covered, the room was great, large and a very comfy bed! Breakfast pretty good and the staff (other than the petulant guy on reception) were great. We enjoyed our stay.

All the staff were very friendly. We could not have found a better hotel with a better view in Gozo.

We stayed in the older part of the hotel, which does need some renovation. We experienced the staff to be short with guests and not very friendly, this definitely needs coaching. We never received water in our room, when I went to reception to get water I was told housekeepers would bring it, and it never happened.

I stayed at the Grand Gozo Hotel in Malta from May 1–6, 2025, and encountered a severe health and safety hazard. My friend and I detected dangerously high carbon monoxide (CO) levels—over 150 ppm—in multiple rooms (457 and 464), for we brought our own CO detector. These levels are well above internationally recognized safety limits and posed a serious risk to our health. Despite reporting this immediately, hotel management failed to take meaningful action. We were moved to another room without a proper inspection or explanation, and our concerns were dismissed. Management also refused a refund for the unsafe room and provided no updates or resolution.

I wanted a quiet few days in Gozo - I didn't have a car so picked this hotel for convenience to ferries and buses. I opted for a room with a terrace/sun loungers. I had a really large room on 8th floor, with spectacular views over the harbour, great air conditioning, huge comfortable bed. We also had a large round bath in the room which I wasn't expecting. The infinity pool was beautiful, stunning views and jacuzzi area. Staff were all lovely - we didn't eat at the hotel so cannot comment on that. Would highly recommend this hotel especially if you book a room with terrace!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It seems there is still quite a bit of construction or renovation happening so we won't judge them on that. We had 1 or two small mishaps in the room but the staff were super fast to correct it. Incredible views! The food was really good. The bar and service staff were amazing and helpful! The AC worked and room was huge! All in all we were very happy. The one main suggestion i would have, is to maybe install a shelf somewhere for shower gel etc in the shower itself. It's not nice to keep things on the floor of the shower. ;) otherwise, a huge thank you to everyone here!

I have never given a hotel a bad review before but the Grand is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in and I would tell anyone to avoid- it ruined our trip to Gozo. The hotel may have been nice 20 years ago but is now in desperate need of renovation. Our room stunk of mould and damp and when we complained with reception were told it was because it was a basic room! Nothing was clean from the carpets to the curtains. The bins in the outside areas weren’t changed leading to an infestation of wasps around the pool. All communal areas were dingy and dirty. Breakfast was poor, nothing was very fresh and mostly we avoided it. The reception staff weren’t helpful and the manager was exceptionally rude. The other hotel staff were friendly and tried their best despite the state of the hotel. The “fitness room” had a couple of very old pieces of equipment, no air con or windows that could open and no water machine. The indoor pool was closed permanently. The only plus is the view which is beautiful. The other guests seemed to share a similar view and we bonded over how grim the hotel was! Avoid it and spend your holiday elsewhere

The hotel is in a great location and reasonably priced. The breakfast was great. Unfortunately our AC was not working in the room and they had to send someone to help fix it 4 times, until it was finally fixed, late on the 2nd night of our stay. They did not try to make up for the inconvenience in any way.

Lovely stay at the Grand Hotel. The rooms could do with a refresh however. We had no specific issues. Food was lovely, staff attentive and helpful. Breakfast had good variety. Pool was lovely. Getting into and out of the underground parking was a mission as it was so steep!

Beautiful sea view, huge room and housekeeping excellent. Patio doors open (on both our rooms) if you jiggle them when locked, pool lovely but strange artificial grass round it gets boiling hot and coming up in places. No cleaning round the pool area during the day so bins overflowing each day by afternoon and lots of the hotel looks unfinished including the car pro which had a digger excavating downstairs and if you looked over the edge of the pool lots of half built cement and structures. Night staff excellent and really helpful, daytime receptionists leave the desk a lot and you feel quite bothersome if you ask for things. Overall the hotel was lovely and did what we needed but definitely areas for improvement! It’s 4 star but communal areas let it down.

We were upgraded to a superior room and enjoyed our stay. Excellent view from the hotel and our private balcony. The pool area has been upgraded since last year- much larger pool and area to sit and relax. A good breakfast - hot and cold items. Good options at the bar area with an outside area to sit. Parking underneath the hotel. Two levels. Quite difficult garage. Good WiFi and TV with some English channels. Bathroom with a lovely bath. A lovely place to spend a few days.
