Only stayed one night. Didn’t have any meals there or used the pool. Receptionist was really nice and told us everything we needed to know . Room was good. Easy to get bus from nearby stop in to Cork City and back.

The room was beautiful, reception was being upgraded but the hotel overall is really nice. We be complaint would be the duvet was far too warm for summer.

3 night stay 1st night Lakewood AFC had their awards night. 3 Players running around the first floor banging on bedroom doors not sure who was responsible for these young lads aged 13/14 I take it parents or coaches possibly, (my door 4 times within 30mins) reported it to hotel manager he was sympathetic but it didn’t stop. Got a phone call from receptionist making sure I’d checked in as it wasn’t logged on the system all this my first night I thought Faulty Towers. However things got better after that. Food was good. Staff were ok But won’t be in any hurry to stay there again whilst in Cork.

Excellent hotel, fantastic room and the restaurant was superb

The hotel was beautiful, but we had some trouble finding it. Our maps on our iPhones 2 of them) sent us in the wrong direction.

We booked 2 double rooms,1 room smelled musty like a dirty mop, they came in and sprayed the floor which made it slightly better, the other room was in fact a family room (for 1 person) this room smelt like sewerage. After several conversations we were offered another room, the new room was a downgrade from what was booked, we are still waiting on confirmation of compensation.

Very comfortable bed and delicious food for both dinner and breakfast. Lots of parking. There was a tour group being booked in when we arrived, and only one person on the service counter. That staff member was patient, friendly and efficient. The white horse pub, a short walk away, also had good food.

Room was good size and clean. Metres not very comfy.

The reputation suggests a good stay, however, and though no fault of the staff, the hotel is well used and needs investment - broadly. Those 'front of house' are a credit, but, absent investment The Talbot will be lickend to the car bearing the name - good but not special! 😞 Renovation is being conducted - there is hope. All carpets, seating and facilties need improvement.

Fantastic hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Room was spacious and clean. Pool and gym were fantastic would definitely be back.

Excellent, could not be better. Rooms very spacious, clean and modern. Had dinner which was lovely.. breakfast was grand. The rooms are way nicer and bigger than the rooms in the nearby hotel, The River Lee.
