It was one night family stay in Marhaba Hotel. The staff was amazing, extremly kind, very helpful. We loved the swimming pool, my kids enjoyed it very much. The food served for breakfast was local, so if someone is not keen on it and wants something more " European ", unfortunately the choice is very limited. The hotel is situated right next to a very noisy road and there is some building/ renovation work going on on the side. As we were led to our room, it appeared the air-conditioning was faulty . It had a large balcony with the view on the Nile ( and the road as well, which you dont see looking at the profile pictures on the webside) . We were moved to another room, with a working air-conditioning but a tiny side balcony facing building side. We were not happy with that so the management offered 2 smaller rooms including one for smokers ( the smell of cigarettes was very strong, ash tray in the room) As we travelled as a family with 2 autistics kids, we insisted on one room. There was no other choice, only the family room without view, with a tiny balcony facing a wall and building side., even thought we had paid for a big family room with a view on the Nile. I understand, that the hotel is situated next to a dusty , busy road, , but the level of dust in the room was unacceptable. The toilet was dirty with unpleasant brownish marks. Unfortunately, we had an awful, noisy night.

The pictures are so wrong, most of those amenities does not exist anymore, pictures are probably very old, this place hasn’t been updated since then, we requested a non-smoking room and they give us a smoker, after talking to front desk and ask for a room change, the person said - we will fix it - and sent a housekeeping person with a air freshener and spray here and there … didn’t do anything, the smell was so strong and penetrated in walls, curtains and linens, the “ac” filter was full of smoke and cigarette smell, this was so disgusting and a huge health hazard, was hard to breathe. The phone never worked , no toilet paper, the fan in the bathroom was broken, doors and windows didn’t locked, the “AC” was probably from 1960 same as the pictures, while running ( because it stops several times ) was so loud that was hard to listen to anything else , never cool down the little room even set to the minimum temperature, just made it super humid ( plus smoke smell), a complete NIGHTMARE. We had to get our stuff and don’t spend the night there.

The property had good central location. Restaurant was not open for dinner. Breakfast was limited. Air conditioner had no temperature control. Bellman kept crowding onto the elevator so he could push buttons and collect a tip.

Super nice balcony view overseeing Nile River. Location less than 10 mins walk to train station. Old hotel that aircon remote was not working for one room and another doesn’t have aircon for 3 nights. Reported to staff but no one attend to issue. No cleaning service for throughout stay for 3 nights. Breakfast was provided but very limited variety. Better to eat out nearby.

Do not stay here. I read the prior reviews and reluctantly stayed here due to no other availability when I landed in Aswan. Upon arrival the bedroom was dirty, hair on the sheets, NO OPERATING HEATER, stains on bed pillows and dirty chairs. My family and I slept using our jackets as blankets as linens were not clean. You could hear music and the hustle and bustle of outside well into 2/3am. The staff however was very polite and friendly. Expedia said we could pay in local currency, but upon arrival they said Expedia charges them and they wanted US dollars instead. Location was great, however I would give this hotel 0 stars if I could.

I tried to book and the cost was showing as £89 including local taxs and charges, when I got there I was charged 4032.EGP works out in uk £126.00. That was £36. pounds over the price. We had a twin room the sheets on the bed had already been slept in I could smell that. The next day I told them about the bed and it was changed.

Staff does not speak English. One door main a check in lady friendly. Can’t not even provide a knife to cut an apple because the kitchen was close really!!

This review is based on my stay (28th-30th December 2022). I paid $260.00 for two nights (nightmare!) 1. Location is perfect. THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY FREE AIRPORT SHUTTLE. They are located 30 Km away from the Aswan airport. Airport transfer may cost you 30-60 USD for each person. 2. Rooms, are dirty, smelly, and very old. 3. Airconditioning system does not work. 4. Bathroom is dirty. 5. Breakfast is the worst. The second cup of tea or coffee will be charged, in case you want to have it. 6. Only good for someone who speaks Arabic.

It was definitely not worth the money, especially for Egypt. Rooms were not clean, no soap, no towels, no paper towels. My toilet was broken and had to ask to be moved otherwise I would have spent the entire night listening to them attempt to fix it. Moved to a room next to a party, which the Hotel did take care of. the location is good if you want to stay next to the train station, which is why I chose it in the first place, but it was not worth the money. This should be a $30 a nigh Hotel, max and not $50.

Very good value for money. Amazing rooftop views. Included half board food delicious. We tried in room massage and was relaxing. Old building but considering price, it was a good stay. Good location, cheap shopping right next to hotel.

A very ordinary offering that in no way reflects a three star rating. Check in was difficult, wifi hopeless, breakfast options limited, TV didn’t work consistently- the place is just not up to the required grade. Not cheap by any means, better alternatives exist I’m sure, although Aswan is a town you don’t need to spend much time in. Good if you like deserts! Get in and get out fast as possible is my advice.

When we arrived at night it was dark and the lobby looked old but in the morning with the lights on, it is a lovely, new hotel. The room was comfortable, the staff helpful, and the surrounding area walkable--if you can ignore the persistence of vendors who will not let you just enjoy the city.
