I have no idea how this place has high reviews. Yes you get what you pay for it’s affordable but I’ve been to places around this cost and they are pretty awesome. Based on reviews I thought this was one of them. Boy was I wrong! The host was rude from the moment we walked in, he said our room wouldn’t be ready until noon, even though the booking says 11. We did arrive at 9am from a cruise but he was dismissive and rude. I stopped by later to ask where we could eat he pointed and said just walk down the street. I did everything was closed. Granted it was Sunday, But there is literally nothing nearby to eat! We luckily found a grocery store and bought a few things to tide us over. Taxis in this area are scarce to nonexistent on a Sunday. I honestly should have just gone to Rome for the day. I would steer clear from this place the beds are uncomfortable and the wallpaper is peeling from the walls this place is zero stars in my opinion. The only good thing is they offered transportation to the airport for a fee of 150 euros which is fair I guess. But yeah this place is dumpy.

The Hotel Triano is very well situated to the cruise port. It is a short drive and you can get the hotel shuttle for a small fee, which is great. The staff are very friendly and the bar "never closes". It has an elevator so those who can't use stairs, shouldn't be afraid t book this hotel. It was a good experience.

Overall not what we were expecting, pictures looked great and decent reviews with overall good price, however once we got to our rooms there was a sewage smell, the toilets hardly flushed, the shower had little to no pressure and hardly any hot water, A/C barely worked. Staff was friendly and kind but was shocked and appalled we left after only being there for 3 hours. We ate the cost of our rooms just to have some level of comfort for a couple of nights somewhere else. I understand every country is different but wow. Spend the extra money and stay somewhere else with working amenities.

The stay was pleasant. I do warn other Americans the mattresses are thinner than we are used to sleeping on. Other than that it was a great stay with great AC. The staff even arranged a shuttle to get guests to the airport or the cruise port. Breakfast was delightful. I would stay here again.

Adding this review to all the others that stayed here before their cruise. Perfect place to spend the night. Very helpful staff who spoke English. Polite, knowledgabe and helpful. Located near a very nice convience store and a safe ATM. Plenty of pizzerias and bars nearby within a few minutes walk. Absolutely great breakfast! They ask you to pick a time slot when you would be coming down for it and there are plenty of delicious breads, eggs, bacon, cakes and fruit juices. Very clean and organized. They also provide a shuttle service to the port which was 18 euro for two people, was very fast and fun; great driver! Overall great place to stay for a couple nights, especially if you are going on a cruise as we met a lot of people who were there for a cruise.

Hotel Traiano is serviceable hotel in a good location to walk around and explore Civitavecchia. The staff is friendly and helpful. Easy/inexpensive shuttle to cruise port. Good breakfast.

Very friendly man at reception. He obviously cares about his guests, and does what he can to help them enjoy their time in Civitavecchia, such as offering a shuttle service to the cruise terminal, or recommending places to eat. Breakfast was good. Rooms were clean, and quiet. Beds are on the harder side (which I prefer), so I had a perfect night’s sleep.

it was a decent hotel for a decent price. place was dated but it was very functional especially with a cruise the next day we didn’t need anything too nice. the shuttle to the cruise was nice and it’s also walking distance to a bunch of stuff. only wish the washer in the room worked. the breakfast was basic but typical european breakfast.

Stayed one night after our cruise. We knew going in that it was an older hotel, so that wasn’t a surprise. We stayed in June, and the air conditioning didn’t work very well, which is something to consider if visiting during warmer months. The hotel is tucked away in a neighborhood, so it’s a bit removed from the city center.

Nothing unique about the hotel. It is old, tired looking and minimally maintained. However, our room was unusually big for Europe. The breakfast that was included was so so, very basic.

Very helpful staff from check in to checkout. Quaint out of the way location. Walking distance, without much luggage, to the train station. 10 minute drive with luggage. Breakfast was solid. Several options. Good coffee. If I were cruising from there again I’d stay here.

All was fine with the hotel and service from the staff however the hotel does not have a restaurant or bar and there were no restaurants or bars in the immediate area.
