The rooms and property in general are in desperate need of a refresh. The breakfast was advertised as being continental - there is nothing continental about brown toast and coco pops. There were no pastries available. Additionally, the bar had no beer on tap or bottles - only Inch's cider and there were no bar snacks available. The staff however were polite and attentive and obviously working with what they are provided.

Room was awful - there was a big hole in the window frame to outside, the windows frames were covered in mold, the window was broken so couldn’t keep it open. The furniture was old, creaky and worn - they’re was damp patches on the walls. They were no bath towels and no breakfast when we went down

Stayed in the annex and internet coverage here very limited. Mobile on 4g most of the time. Fire alarm sounded at 9.30pm. Staff were clueless. No role call taken and little communication. Guests left hanging around waiting for action to be taken. Absolute shambles describes the situation. Didn’t take breakfast as I checked out early but at that time is basically tea and toast anyway. With staying in annex i couldn't get into main building to check out properly, so I had to post key card through letterbox

This hotel is tired, was dirty in both the bedroom and bathroom. A curtain was torn off the rail and bedding smelt musty. The restaurant was closed and whilst not a major issue as Shifnal has plenty of eateries, after a long day working and travelling, this was not a welcome surprise. The breakfast was adequate if austere - with so few staff they seemed to be struggling. Sadly I will not plan a return visit when next required to overnight in the area.

The staff were attentive and friendly and the cooked breakfast was good. The decor was half old country house and half outdated nineties. It was shabby inside and not well maintained outside. Perfectly adequate for an overnight stay just for a bed for the night and breakfast but not as a holiday destination .

Although our room was clean and tidy the property looks very tired and in need of refurbishment. The gardens lack care and maintenence. We could not control the shower temperature and the bathroom door jammed shut when you closed it. My husband had to force it open. The TV remote didnt work properly. The wardrobe door wouldn't remain shut. We didnt use the spa facilities or swimming pool. We didnt have breakfast or eat in the restaurant, so i cant comment on these.

It is a very old building run by a small number of staff. The whole property is very tired. However bedroom was clean although very old fashion Bed was comfortable Breakfast ok this morning. Not a place that you would rush back to however it was very cheap. As they say you get what you pay for.

We had an enjoyable stay. The room.was spacious. Parking was free but you had to enter your Registration on arrival. So many signs about parking restrictions! The staff were very helpful.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, offering a complimentary drink due to a delay in restaurant service. The restaurant menu was standard; the soup tasted processed, though the bread was warm and enjoyable. Decor and fittings were slightly dated, with some cobwebs on the walls. The hotel offers good value, with a gym, pool, and fully opening windows. Breakfast had some inconsistencies: the orange juice was dilute with a fusty taste, and available only once, eggs were poached nicely, but sausages were bland and there were no fruit or vegetables such as tomatoes.

I booked the hotel to stay in for 3 nights with my daughter whilst I was playing in the Pickleball English Open in Telford. I always look for a pool and looking at some of the reviews this was a bit of a gamble, however it definitely paid off ! Yes, the hotel is a little dated and could do with some investment, however, it was clean, the suite size was very good and the price was great value. The pool was pretty awesome. It is in a separate wooden building and was really warm, with a jacuzzi. The steam room was out of action, but the sauna wasn't and was also great. We somehow managed to use the pool twice a day, every day. I come to Telford pretty regularly, and this will now be the hotel I will book every time.
