We love staying at the Sylvia! Fantastic location and a safe and quiet part of town for travelling with kids. Rooms are large enough to stretch out as a family of 5. Staff are very polite and friendly and the restaurant does a great breakfast.

A beautiful historic hotel with a beautiful location

This is an iconic hotel with the perfect view of English Bay. It's an older building, so expect a few rough-around-the-edges features. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the rooms are great. It can be expensive without a deal, so thanks Expedia for the good deal and in advance for future deals, so I can afford to stay here again and again.

The staff was very helpful, including providing information prior to my arrival. The building has great charm, and wonderful location. The rooms could use improvement and updating. With the age of the building, noise outside was louder, and some doors dragged or stuck a little. The property could be superlative with a little work. Still found it quite beautiful.
