Breakfast in the restaurant was delicious and well presented. The room was very clean and has character due to the historical hotel. I stayed in the hotel when I was a child with my parents in the past.

This is not a modern hotel, and therein lies its charm. You get a real room key, not a piece of plastic. The Sylvia, true to its history, is ever warm and gracious, and the staff are calm, efficient, and attentive.

The one bedroom suite felt like a proper apartment. Spacious, comfy beds, nice set up in bathroom and things like the flatware dishes. Even the faucets all looked good quality. The partial view of Eng Bay was indeed a partial view and we did get to look out and see that without training our necks.

This heritage hotel has been modernized sensitively and sensibly. The location is conveniently close to Denman Avenue shops and eateries and Stanley Park walks. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The views over English Bay from the dining room are superb! Parking was available at a reasonable rate in an easily accessed coveted garage.

Everything was lovely. Having a desk in the room would have been very helpful. The fridge kept going on and off, making sounds throughout the night. The location is fantastic as we love to walk along the sea wall. We will definitely come back yet again.

Location basically a hop and skip away from English Bay and the edge of Stanley Park is second to none. We love coming to this location and the food in the restaurant is top notch along with all the employees.

The Sylvia is an old hotel that has updated much without losing its charm. We enjoy staying here.

The staff and the beautiful history and architecture of the hotel are a pleasure. Location for walking from deep in the West end of Vancouver shops, cafes and restaurants is spot on. The ability to step across the road and get onto the sea wall pathway is fantastic. The restaurant is... good... but not necessarily for the young or young at heart.. Being the oldest cocktail lounge in Vancouver.. i feel I was hoping for a lot more than it offered.. but it didn't negatively affect our stay as there is so much available just a short walk away.
