My family and I visiting Reading for a family wedding. We wanted a hotel that was near transportation and had an excellent rating. Malmaison did not disappoint. The staff friendly and fabulous. The rooms large, immaculate and comfortable. Can we talk about location…perfect if you want to jump on a train to visit anywhere in England (which we did). Don’t let the hustle and bustle of the train station scare you because once you walk thru the hotel doors, the outside stays outside! We plan to stay again and again and again!

Very poor room. Window looked out onto a wall. Dark room. Was put in a disabled twin room which was really disappointing

Overall the property was somewhat tired in appearance. The “mood lighting” ( otherwise known as dim ) in the room covered a number of shortcomings. The staff however were friendly and efficient. Best area of the hotel was the restaurant for evening meal and breakfast.

I absolutely loved this hotel - I loved every thing about the hotel. My room was brilliant lovely , so clean , we had a bath and a shower . We had slippers and a dressing gown if needed.A mini fridge , a safe , bed was huge. The staff x the cleaners ( all who I came in contact with) with was really friendly, nothing was too much for them. I would 100 percent recommend the hotel. X

Location near Rail Station is perfect

Great stay we came back here because of how good the place is and location. Perfect to get about the city

Air conditioning in the room did not function. It was much warmer in the room than in other parts of the hotel. Bathroom was disgusting, lots of moldy water damage. The shower was not accessible at all, with a very high step into the bath and no safety railings or anything to hold. Essentially you had to climb over the toilet to get in. Room was very noisy, and the common areas of the hotel were taken up with a function. Dining was not available and room service had only limited availability even though it was advertised as 24 hours. Room service menu had limited items as well, many things were not available. Location is good for the station, that's about all the positives I have.

Stayed here for one night with my partner. She checked in before me, however, they charged her £103 at check in which she later messaged me about, however, I had already paid for the room. When she went to query this they refunded her, however were unapologetic. When I arrived I requested to understand what had happened to be told by a staff member it is not her fault and it was dealt with by another employee, again no apology. Room itself wasn’t the best, cracks and dirt in the bathroom. I would expect better from a Malmaison. Very disappointed with our stay. You would expect hospitality from a hotel, however, they failed to deliver, would absolutely not stay again.

Nicely situated close to train station. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was nice size and well equiped. Would return again.

Bed mattress ok but pillows are awful, no structure or support

This was my 4th or 5th stay and while the service is excellent the hotel is showing either its age or neglect. Furniture in my room was worn, the bed was lumpy and the lighting way too muted. Think my next visit to Reading might require a new venue. All of that said the reception staff and the housekeeping staff were excellent/
