Everything about the McGee Inn was perfect. It is a beautiful house furnished in period style. The staff was very accommodating and they thought of everything. Our room had big windows and the temperature during some very cold days was very comfortable. Breakfast was divine and very soothing classical music was played while we ate. The Inn is close to the Rideau Canal and walking distance to everything else we wanted to see and do. We had a working FIREPLACE in our spacious bedroom and the staff furnished us with a duraflame log to burn each night. My husband and I had a fabulous stay and wished we could have stayed longer. I was amazed at the affordable price considering the level of comfort and service. We would love to visit again!

A gem of a place. Beautiful Victorian home decorated with exquisite taste. Mid December, it was decorated wonderfully for Christmas. Like a warm hug when you came through the door! Family run, everyone was welcoming & helpful. Breakfasts were truly excellent - try the banana & strawberry crepes made by Holly. Our room was spacious & we had a real fire, quite the treat. Tea & coffee available 24/7 in the lounge. We had a wonderful stay, hotel is very central for downtown - 15 minute walk along Rideau takes you to the NAC, Byward Market etc. A few minutes more to Parliament Hill. (We are in our 60s). Definitely a 5 star experience for us.

As always, excellent stay. Breakfast was amazing, room was spotless, staff was lovely. 10 minute walk to Parliament buildings and all the sites. The only place we will stay while in Ottawa.

Clean room, easy parking, quiet and good breakfast!

Lovely inn, delicious breakfasts, comfortable bed. We were aware prior to our visit that there were stairs but we had to lug our suitcases up a LOT of stairs.

Lovely heritage venue. A bit loud outside after dark. Third floor room 22 with enclosed balcony was nice (it’s also the fire escape for the entire floor). A little unusual having the washroom outside the bedroom, but you know that when you book. Delicious breakfast, very cool interior in the hallways and the rooms!

The room was adorable and super clean. Staff was very friendly - breakfast was really delicious. The whole experience was very cozy and very comfortable.

Victorian Room, 4 nights. The room was spacious with king bed, reading chairs, the ante-room. The bed was firm but comfortable. The bathroom is small - no room for dancing. The large jetted double soaker tub is in the bedroom. The breakfast was excellent with several options available each morning. The location is great with walking distance to Byward Market and many local attractions. Nit-picks: When booking the website name the room "McGee" while the confirmation called it Victorian. Had trouble operating the TV with the remote; staff turned the TV on while we were out one day and we later figured out that the TV had to be turned on with the buttons on the right side. Making up of the room and emptying the garbage is only done if you request it.

Nice little inn with parking available. Very good breakfast and friendly staff. Room is comfortable. Coffee/tea station available for guests. Loved that the bed had a blanket and quits --- instead of the ubiquitous too-hot duvet! Would like a squishier pillow though, but that's a personal preference.
