We were put in room 41 in the Lodge at the bottom of the car park. When we checked in the window was wide open and there was a smell of damp. As we were going straight out we just dropped our bags, closed the window and left. We came back at 1-pm to an overwhelming smell of damp. It is possibly the worst hotel room I have ever slept in.

Very nice hotel. Our room was downstairs under the reception with a very comfortable king bed and a lovely furniture. Nice bathroom with a very good shower but the sink drain pipe was leaking into a drawer underneath which was being damaged by the leak and the floor became very wet. The breakfast was very delicious. We chose an omelet with smoked salmon from the menu and there was also a buffet with a delicious Yorkshire ham, cheeses, salads, fruit, pastry and cereals so plenty of food to choose from. Very close to City Walls and Bootham Bar.

The room was beautiful and clean. Staff were amazing and helpful. What started out as a negative weekend because our original holes was double booked, it then turned positive. The Minster hotel was amazing.

More suited to the older population Im mid 30s so this wasn't really my style. However friendly staff clean room good distance from attractions

On arrival we were dealt with right away and directed to our room which was a ground floor apartment, although there wasn't house keeping everyday, you got a daily delivery of tea, coffee and milk biscuits and toilet roll.The reception staff were very helpful when asked for dinner recomdations. The breakfast staff were very pleasant and friendly and breakfast was delivered promptly after taking your order,we would definitely stay there again and have no problem recommending this hotel

Great location- walking was easy to everything. Wonderful welcoming and helpful staff and reception. Breakfast was excellent. Large room and bathroom. Super comfortable bed. Couldn’t fault anything. Value for money!

Stayed in a nicely appointed garden room that had a patio just outsidr. Breakfast buffet had a nice variety of food offerings including lots if fresh fruit.

Room was clean and spacious. Bed was very comfortable. Parking on site. Breakfast was awesome and reasonably priced. Staff were super friendly and helpful.

Cozy family operated and wonderful staff. Stairs into our bathroom leaves me with accessibility concerns (they were inconvenient even able footed freshly out of a shower) but otherwise clean quiet and highly recommended - 5 minute walk to Yorkminster and the York city center and 10 minute walk to the train/bus station makes it ideal for travelers.

Hotel staff were brilliant breakfast absolutely spot on ,hotel is situated near the minster so is ideal for exploring the whole centre of York we will definitely be staying here again and highly recommend this hotel for anyone who's looking for a stay in york

Close to the major attractions, a very friendly staff.

The hotel is old but has been remodelled and they did a nice job. The bathroom was large and well appointed but there was the start of mould along the bottom and housekeeping should be on top of that. We were also in a ground floor room and the windows opened up onto a side road - we like to sleep with the windows open and there was nothing to prevent anyone from climbing in… sleeping with one eye open doesn’t enhance your experience. The dining room and breakfast were lovely and the staff at reception and in the dining room gave exceptional service.

This was our second time staying here and it was as good as the first time we stayed, staff are so nice, room was lovely, breakfast was perfect good selection of food and a cooked breakfast as well. Walking distance to center shops and restaurants, parking onsite too
