There was only one staff in the bar on a busy Friday night and people were waiting to be served. That poor lad, he needed help.

This hotel is a gem in the heart of Oban. It was the best hotel in Scotland so far. The views are spectacular and the room was spacious, clean, and made me wish we stayed longer.

We stayed one night in Oban in our way from Inverness to Glasgow. A bit of a detour, but worth it. We booked last minute. The hotel has a superb view of the bay. Unfortunately we timed it with a large group of tourists staying there, and this seemed to have overwhelmed the staff a bit. We couldn't park in the hotel, and parked in the street overnight. That was ok. The staff accommodated that we could have breakfast earlier than the booked time. It was ok for one night stop, but maybe not more. Under different circumstances had the hotel not been busy with large group of tourists, I am sure the experience would have been much better.

Close to the action, old world character with newer amenities, a bar attached, and breakfast on-site available. Elevator was a plus.

Amazing location, especially if you take the train…absolutely beautiful. The staff were so helpful and kind, and stored our luggage before check in and after check out so we could just sightsee and enjoy the town.

This hotel was lovely, the beds and pillows were very comfortable, the room had coffee making facilities and little chocolates and biscuits, the toilet was clean, the shower was excellent, bathrobes and slippers provided along with toiletries, we didn’t use the dining facilities but the smell coming from there was fabulous, we did however use the bar which had a great selection of drinks and cocktails. In all I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here again. The staff are very friendly, always speaking when you came in or left the building.

Spacious, comfortable room. Staff need a few lessons in manners, attentiveness and dress code. Breakfast okay, nothing to write home about. Staff wore jeans, trainers and blouses, not quite what I would have expected. One member of staff in breakfast room rather rude. We ordered breakfast both without sourdough toast and asked for brown toast separately. Breakfast arrived served on top of brown toast, not separate as requested. I said we had asked for it separate and she went to take plate away. I said just to leave it and bring toast separately. She returned with one slice in a toast rack. I said I had requested toast for 2 on the side. She grabbed the toast rack and said if you tell me what you want I will get it. Strange I thought I already had! Had requested a room with bath in message to hotel prior to arrival. None available but not even acknowledged by Receptionist, just said none available. At checkout we weren't asked how our stay was, but did offer have a nice day as we were leaving. Such a shame, as this used to be our go to Hotel in Oban since it first opened, but that is definitely our last visit

Such a cool old hotel over looking the sea. Floors are uneven due to how old it is but we loved our room overlooking the harbor, fun storm we watched from our room. Wish we were there for a longer stay!!

Our room was lovely and the air-conditioning and heating system worked well. We very much enjoyed the spa. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. We did not really care for the dinner menu so didn’t eat there.

Arrived late, but the hotel had a lot of inventory so room selection should have been no problem. The front desk staff gave us our room key (room was assigned earlier in day, as far as we could tell). Room was tiny! It was also on the main road side of the hotel, so we couldn't sleep with road noise, traffic, drunk people on streets, etc. If it was peak season, I'd understand ending up in a room like this. But the hotel had ALOT of empty rooms, so maybe management should think about how they assign rooms at low inventory times of year. While there is a lift to each floor -- there are also stairs on each floor that have to be used to access about half of the rooms. For those with disabilities, make sure they put you in one of the rooms on the level with the elevator. There was a nice lounge/bar attached to hotel. Amenities were super nice. Breakfast looked like standard hotel fare (cereal and eggs) - we went around the corner to a nice cafe for breakfast.

Loved our room. Very spacious, king size bed and great shower pressure. Also no shower over bath.
