Family trip for a few days to travel around the area and Dolomites. Great stay location wise, the hotel were great at providing us with local information (e.g. free travel on buses, trains and cable cars) - they were great. The pool is a great size for a splash after a busy day.

Very nice and clean place. Well maintained. Expensive for what you get. No coffee machine or refrigerator in the room. For coffee you need to pay for a very expensive buffet ($22) or drive to the next town. Virtually no soap in the room. Need to press the dispenser a lot to get any soap. Owner was untruthful with me about dinner. Told me the only option was a four course meal also expensive but very tasty. After I received my meal I started seeing other diners (locals) getting different dishes than I was offered. My meal was really good but I would not have opted for the $30 dinner. Beautiful hike and bike trail walking distance from the hotel.

Owners friendly. Rooms had a Norwegian feel to them. Large and clean. Outside bar garden was very relaxing.

The room was super clean. Very nice bathroom. The beds were a bit hard. The outside facilities were so beautiful with a lot of flowers. For the summer they have a beautiful big pool!!!

Great friendly place. Staff go out of their way to help from umbrellas to tickets. Preferred staying here and driving to meetings in Bolsano

Andreas and his wife are excellent hosts. Caring, passionate and dedicated. Ready to help with any issue. The entire place has a "home" feel to it, the atmosphere is super friendly, the rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. Excellent food and drinks. Highly recommend!

What a great find. Nice quiet hotel with a pool in amongst the apple orchards in the valley. The host and his wife were fantastic and very accommodating. Great food at the hotel and also a nice pizza restaurant a few min walk away. Would definitely recommend and will surely stay there again

Brilliant service by the pool, the bar and breakfast. The pool was a welcome refreshment after a week of hiking across the alps and the hotel staff were amazing. Breakfast was full of local delicacies and the coffee was servced individually, which was great after a week of filter coffee in Germany/Austria.

Super friendly host and really neat location for exploiting the area by foot or car. Definitely recommend visiting and using Sparerhof as your base

This is a nice little hotel. I had a large room, the decor was a bit outdated, but it was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Plenty of TV Stations. Staff was very nice and courteous and breakfast was very tasty. I would definitely stay there again!

Great little hotel, nice balcony in the room, good shower, nice pizzeria and a few shops down the road. Owner was very accommodating and sorted us out with a second night no problem.

Can't rate this place high enough, the staff speek English and we had a great time. The door was fantastic as well

Two things make the Hotel Sparerhof: staff and location. Honestly, they are the nicest family and go out of their way to recommend things and make your stay comfortable. This is 10' from Merano, without the Merano prices and parking madness. Wine country is also about 10' the other direction. It's ideal and you should go! :)

We found this hotel to be friendly, comfortable and a welcome change from the bigger chain hotels we normally stay in on business trips. It is very conveniently situated for Bolzano and you can be there in 5-10 mins by car but I believe there are other transport links (train/bus). The food in the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced and I believe there are other restaurants nearby. The rooms are simple but very clean and comfortable. The staff speak perfect English and are willing to help with any queries you have. The surrounding area is stunning and I will be returning for a holiday next year. There is also a lovely swimming pool and bikes free to use. The best Cappuccino I had on my trip!

The hotel, the manager, the food and the ambience were by far the best we ran into in two weeks in Italy. I look forward to coming back.

A beautiful little hotel nestled in a rustic Alpine town. Charming lobby, bar and restaurant. Gracious friendly staff...family owned and operated. Provided us with very courteous service with personal attention and help with tourist information and restaurants. A place we will certainly hope to stay in the next time we return to the Merano area.

The hotel owners were friendly, smart, and fun. They are perfectly suited to this calling! The swimming pool was refreshing, they let me use the computer when my smartphone wasn't working, and the room itself was comfortable. What was most memorable was the style of the outdoor patio where we had dinner--a pergola, flowers everywhere, and a fine meal with excellent wines that were produced locally. The dining room where we had breakfast was sophisticated--the pictures on the wall, the curtains, the furniture--all very classy and the breakfast buffet had many delicious things to choose from. It was a totally wonderful experience.

Very courteous and helpful staff. Good food. Local road a bit noisy at times. Great mountain view. Close to some wonderful sites to visit.
