Very disappointing stay – terrible bedding and rooms smell of smoke Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The blankets and quilts provided were terrible and very uncomfortable to sleep under. It honestly feels like they are using two different sizes of blankets/quilts, which makes them awkward and uncomfortable throughout the night. We struggled to sleep properly because of this. The rooms also had a very strong smell of cigarette smoke, which was unpleasant and made the room feel unclean and uncomfortable, especially when trying to sleep. For the price we paid, I expected a much better standard. A comfortable, clean and fresh-smelling room is the absolute minimum you expect from a hotel. I would not recommend staying here unless these issues are properly addressed.

I would NOT recommend this hotel!! What they advertise isn’t what you get. We raised a complaint and the first member of staff said “well if you wasn’t happy why did you stay?” We came from London and weren’t able to find alternative accommodation At such short notice. We spoke to the manager who said she will investigate the issues and get back to us by the end of the day, we are still waiting for a response. Whilst talking to the manager other hotel guests tried to get involved but my complaint had nothing to do with them. All staff that we spoke to have told us there’s always problems in the rooms such as the air con isn’t working etc

Friday 01May2026. An overnight stopover. Ramada clearly asset-stripped this site (probably repeatedly) before selling it on in January 2026. Great staff - truly brilliant - are faced with tired rooms and window seals (room 002) which leach traffic noise in from the nearby (but conveniently located) M5 viaduct. For disabled users, there is a slight slope up to the (manual) external glass door, before you reach the one powered door. From the lobby, two solid manual doors sit between you and the bedrooms, which can be cheerfully describes as "adequate" with ONE dim light in the whole ceiling. Breakfast was superb, plentiful and a great start to Saturday. Cannot rate evening meal because "the chef is off sick". Easy access to ALDI/LIDL next door and ASDA across the (main) road. The excellent hotel staff directed us eight minutes easy walk eastwards to the lovely Takka-Tak Indian restaurant. Use this for one night on your way to somewhere better.

We as a couple of review I have read, on entry to reception it looks good but not so when you see the room, broken furniture, poorly fitted out bathroom. Bed so not comfortable had one of the worst night sleeps ever in a hotel. Food was aldo not great. Will not use again.

Despite booking the wrong date online, the staff were very helpful and understanding, and changed to the correct day without any fuss.
