This was my first stay at Hotel Astor, and I was very happy with it. The staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was ample and delicious (eggs, juice, fruit, yogurt, meat, fresh pastries, etc.). Location is in a small suburb of Genoa, a few minutes walk from train station (about 10 minutes by train to Genoa city center) and also a few minutes walk to the beautiful walkway above the sea, named "Anita Garibaldi". My room was super clean and bed very comfortable. Decor is basic and simple. I had lunch and dinner in their restaurant, and it was delicious and reasonably priced. I look forward to staying here again because of quiet yet convenient location, friendly staff, and cleanliness.

Lovely hotel set in its own garden of lawn, shade trees and terrace. We enjoyed a pre-dinner glass of wine on the terrace. The location is only 1 block from the train station, the water-side passageway, and the famous Nervi gardens. Our room overlooked the gardens with a small terrace of its own.

Excellent location, good concierge recommendations on restaurants, excellent breakfast buffet. May need to smooth check out process. Greatly appreciated having the night concierge preparing a small table with coffee and cookies at 4:45 am before driving to the airport.

The reception staff was super helpful. The location was very close to Genoa Nervi train station, so it's convenient to take trains to either Cinque Terre or Santa Margherita for day trips. The main inconvenient thing I found was the bath/shower. The shower fixture on the wall was rather low, so had to hold the shower head by hand for showers. The other thing is that the internet kept dropping out and had to log in frequently.

Most of the hotel staff members are really helpful, especially Irene! There's one fellow who could use a course or two at charm school, but the others made up for his lack of personal qualities. The room is small but clean and the balcony a welcomed treat! My wife claims the best was comfortable; for me it was a bit hard but I managed. We would certainly stay there again and would recommend any of our friends to stay there as well. The location to the train station, beach, local shopping and dining is super!

The Astor Hotel is located on a lovely property, but it does NOT deserve a 4 Star rating. We arrived two hours after check-in time and maid service carts were everywhere, could hardly navigate the very narrow hallways to our room with bags. The room was clean, the bed looked HARD and the bathroom was tiny. I'm not sure that my husband's shoulders would have fit in the shower. There was a terrace, but it overlooked the roof of the first floor. Furnishings were old and looked well worn. I asked for, and received a key to an alternate room, it was more disappointing than the first. We left, had lunch, then made alternate reservations in another nearby hotel. We returned, picked-up our luggage (we never unpacked) and checked-out. The staff was gracious. I said I was sorry, but their hotel was not what we were expecting. It is an older hotel which is not the issue. The hotel we moved to was much older, but certainly met the standard of what I consider to be a Four Star Hotel. The Astor should listed as 3 Star, at best.

Reasonable hotel close to public transport and ocean. A fair distance from the airport if flying in. Staff left a bit to be desired though. They gave my passport to another guest and didn't seem that interested in helping me find it! Eventually I asked another guest (who was part of my tour) and found it. Other than that mishap it is a nice hotel.

Located on a residential street, this hotel is about one walkable block from the bus stop, the train station and the promenade that takes you along the seaside to the old port of Nervi. Very easy parking. Enjoy the lobby bar for a drink or sit out in the garden for a drink before dinner. The staff was friendly and attentive (a special word for Massimo, who was excellent). The guest room was adequate and the bathroom was dated but big enough to be comfortable. The room air conditioning system worked well. The internet worked well and downloads were fast. We have stayed in this hotel twice and each time had a balcony. The breakfast buffet was excellent and we would use this hotel again.

What a lovely little hotel. We wished we'd been able to stay longer. Lovely setting, great location, air-conditioned, clean, nice, with a nice breakfast in the morning. We loved it, and loved Nervi.
