We loved our stay hotel Katy, great location near the beach, shopping and restaurants! I My only complaint was when we checked in no one bothered to explain how the beaches work and that there is no free public beach access! We left to go to the beach and walked around for an hour trying to figure it all out, only to return to the hotel, where then they explained how it all worked. She then gave us a few close private beach club recommendations where we were welcome to pay a small fee and get a spot on the beach. It was frustrating because we were only there one day and the next morning I heard them thoroughly explaining the situation to all new guests! We also had a 2 hour delayed check in only because they left the guest before us pay for a late check out. Seemed a bit unfair. Otherwise we loved our stay.

The hotel is lovely( possibly family run?)Very nice and clean with a good breakfast the location was fantastic- so close to the sea front and the beach which was Maurizio ! The rooms were spacious and clean and ours had a balcony with a sea view!

Hotel Katy, Is a well located hotel. The room was your typical European size. The bathroom was spacious and very clean . The AC needs to be turned on right away to get the temperature of the room down. Our room had a great size balcony. The Hotel is very well priced. David on the Rock

This my favourite hotel in Viareggio. This my third stay here. Hotel close to front and resturants, supermarket close by. Hotel is family owned and run, staff always friendly and helpful. Breakfast is exceptional, rooms clean and well maintained. Overall standard is high, well above what would be expected for 3 star hotel.

Lovely family run hotel - great location for beach and 15 minute walk to train station. Very friendly and helpful staff - good continental breakfast included. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay in Viareggio.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. Great situation for beach and restaurants - short walk to train station and woods. Excellent breakfast - fresh, plenty of choice, well presented. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Positives: location is great, you are right by the main promenade, there is a park behind the hotel and small supermarket around the corner. Sea is 2 min walk. Hotel provides beach towels which you can change every 3 days. Most of the hotel staff are friendly and lovely. Negatives: hotel would benefit from some furniture update. My son was allocated a single bed which was an old blue sofa and looked a bit dirty, had to cover the back of it with a towel, the same goes for the chairs. Blood stain on the curtains and half of the dead mosquito spoil the view from the window. Breakfast was decent, always the same things , no parma or mozzarella, no olives or fresh tomatoes and cucumbers, however fruit was really nice and cakes change daily. Overall hotel reflects the price and would be fantastic with some investment into some new furniture. We won't be returning

My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Katy for 3 days during our trip to Italy. The staff was extremely warm and friendly, check in was easy and efficient, and the room was clean and comfortable. The location was absolutely unbeatable and they have a great relationship with stefano, the guy that runs beach Maurizio near the hotel and offer a special price for prime beach real estate. Breakfast was amazing and kept us full past lunch. Amazing stay, and we will be back!

Hotel Katy was great - the staff were really friendly, the room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast was great. The hotel is right by the beach, but tucked away off the main road so it's nice and quiet at night. Viareggio is beautiful and we knew that it would be out of season mid-May, but hadn't realised that so many of the shops, restaurants and beach clubs would be shut, so that's the only thing I would say to take into consideration when booking for this time of year. Despite this, we did manage to find different places to eat each day.
