Cet hôtel est un magnifique ancien château. Il est très confortable et le personnel est des plus gentils. Les commodités sont toutes très bien et les chambres sont immenses. Malheureusement, l'entretien a été négligé depuis plusieurs années ce qui déclasse complètement la qualité des lieux.

Lovely location, wonderful frog chorus from lake, helpful staff. Lift to all floors if travelling with aged parents. Beds a bit firm for our liking, but we'd come back!

We had a wonderful time at the hotel. The staff wad very helpful and friendly. The food and drinks were outstanding!

We stayed in a lot of places in Paris and Normandy. This one was my absolute favorite. We drove from Paris and arrived at dusk. Seeing the Chateau revealed through the hedges in the evening light was magical. We explored the grounds a little later and spotted a fox hunting in a pasture. It was so calm and peaceful. Our room was so spacious and I took the most relaxing bath after a full day of walking on a D-Day tour. The bed was incredibly comfortable and breakfast in the morning was delicious. If I were ever in the Normandy region again, this Chateau is my first choice.

The chateau has a beautiful setting and great potential. Our spacious room was charming with at least 14 foot ceilings and a large remodeled bathroom. But, there were some definite downsides: since there is no AC, we opened the windows which required moving a table (not a big deal) and the fan in our room was much appreciated; the beautiful 14 ft draperies were impossible to open and close (no rod or cords, so we had to try to jerk them closed--see picture--it was a good thing we wanted to get up early); there was mold visible all along the window frames; the tub was hard to get in and out of and had no partition or curtain (try as we might, we couldn't use the handheld shower to wash our hair without getting the floor wet); finally despite leaving two written requests to the staff to fill empty soap and lotion dispensers, these were ignored.

Older property that could use some TLC. Breakfast was OK. Exterior grounds were well kept. And the waterway was filled with frogs.

Loved this charming chateaux. Beautiful big room, clean, and like a step back in time. Close to Bayeux cot center full of shops and restaurants and also the Normandy beaches/museums/cemetery. Highly recommend.

The Chateau is very charming and quaint. The rooms don’t offer air conditioning but they provided fans. Initially the fan we had was blowing heat and the staff couldn’t locate a different one for us so we saw them assembling something at registration and when we returned to our room later there was a brand new, better fan waiting for us. It was much appreciated given the heat wave. The mattresses are hard and lumpy. The location is fantastic! It was a great late afternoon when we could sit in the shade with a glass of wine.

Overall happy with our stay and room

We spent three nights at Chateau de Bellefontaine. This place is a hidden gem!! You have to understand older homes, in order to appreciate its character. The staff were wonderful, the breakfast was amazing and the house and grounds were stunning. We had a one bedroom, on the 4th floor. The bed, in our room, was totally comfortable.... more so than any other place we stayed, in France. If you choose to stay here... ENJOY!!

Enjoyable stay, lovely hotel

The grounds are lovely, the staff friendly and helpful, and the food in the restaurant was great. The room, itself, was OK, but its design was strange. The toilet and the shower and sinks were on two different levels, and the staircase made accessing the coffee maker beneath it a bit precarious. Plus, the WiFi in the room did not work the entire three nights we were there.
