This aparthotel exceeded our expectations. It was spotless, spacious, and offered a very safe and comfortable environment. The location was unbeatable—only a short walk to the Christmas Markets, which made our trip even more special. We would absolutely stay here again.

The place was great! Clean, new bathroom, elevator, one of a kind. The only little difficulty was dropping off the luggage with very limited space to park in front. Once parked at the garage on the street parallel, all was ok. When we arrived the place was very warm which was great since it’s winter and we reduced the heat and it was all good. The rooms are super spacious with very high ceilings and vintage furniture, talking to the owner, we heard there are only four family hotels left. I hope this place is able to stay in business!

This hotel is charming, with plenty of vintage decor, and a great location. Our room was large and comfortable, with a sitting area and a kitchenette. We will stay here again next time we are in Vienna.

Huge space in museum like building. But modern amenities kitchen included. Great communication.

I was nervous about the other reviews . Bed comfortable and plenty of quilt options . Noise on last night from moving about in room above did disturb me unfortunately. That was our last night so we were lucky. I think if it had been like that all our trip I would have been annoyed. So maybe request no one above you if poss. I would not let that put you off though. The authentic character property a 10 minute walk from volkstheatre and museum quarter was perfect. We didn’t want for anything in our room. It would have been nice to see staff about the property more but then they were there if we needed them. Bathroom was gorgeous water consistently hot different times during the day. Supermarket and plenty of cafes and restaurants on surrounding streets. We will stay again.

Lovely apartment which worked well for 3 adults and 1 child. 2 separate rooms and 3 beds. Nice walk to museum quarter and easily walkable into main city but plenty of transport options. Different as not modern really feel like you are staying somewhere historic.

Loved my stay at Rothensteiner! The location was great—really close to the heart of the city amd transportation. The apartment was blending with the historic vibe of Vienna. It had all needed amenities incl. A/C, and was spacious. Great host. Highly recommended!

This hotel was a gem!!! The hotel owners live on site and were able to help us quickly when needed. The room was outstanding and quiet!!! No sounds from neighboring rooms or from outside, despite being in the center of a bustling city. Would highly recommend!!

Really lovely apartment with character. We travelled as a group of 5 and apartment was very comfortable and big enough for all of us. Reception really helpful and friendly , although not right in the centre you can still walk to a lot of places. Highly recommended.

If you are looking for a hotel with all that goes with it this is not for you, This is not a Hotel, these are self contained room/apartments .. But what you get is stylish, historic building that is perfect to explore the surrounding areas of Vienna.

The property was beautiful, authentic, and the area was very nice. The one thing I took issue with was check-in. I booked the reservation for myself and 4 friends and we were getting there at varied times. They got there first, gave my name (my nickname as my first name and not my full government name I used for booking) and were given the room without asking to show any identification whatsoever. I would think that giving the "wrong name" and not providing ID would be a red flag, and the fact that they were given the room is a huge security safety issue. It should only be given to the person whose name it is under with valid identification. Other than that we had a lovely stay, but I could see how this could turn into a huge issue.

Really beautiful property and conveniently located. Very clean and nice amenities including all the kitchen untensils, coffee machine etc... However there was one (unfortunately pretty fundamental) problem in that the walls are paper thin. You hear everything in this building and I mean EVERYTHING... If you have the misfortune to be next to noisy neighbours like I was, expect to be kept awake til 3am, and not in any kind of fun way... A real shame as it's lovely otherwise, but if something like that is a dealbreaker for you, best look elsewhere or invest in earplugs.

What a beautiful place, we felt like staying in a Sissi-Museum! The entire building breaths Austrian-Hungarian Empire history. The rooms were excellent, with high ceilings and very spacious. The only downside was that a visiting German shepherd dog was a bit frightening and barked at us on two occasions.

The hotel was beautiful in a great location close to many monuments and restaurants. Great for Christmas markets! The room itself was a bit plain and in need of dusting but very comfortable and roomy.
