This hotel was reasonably priced in comparison to others we stayed at in Lucerne and Zurich. The views from the room balcony were impeccable and the alps are stunning. The staff were very kind and gave us help as needed. Breakfast offered some good options and seemed on par with other options around town. The hotel offered a large breakfast/picnic area and lobby where you can get drinks and the tea is complimentary! Two things I think you should be aware of prior to arriving: 1) the space is small, we felt crowded with bringing two carry ons and one checked bag and 2) there is no AC (most places we visited in grindelwald did not seem to have it) so windows will have to stay open at night for air circulation. This was a big deal for us as we are sensitive to heat and also there was a music festival down the street one night and a movie playing on the street another. Overall, I would recommend this place for impeccable views and the friendly staff! Thanks for a lovely stay

Very close to train station but most aweful breakfast while we were in Europe We were told that we would have a breakfast to go on one morning when we had early departure . Front desk reception was No where to be found . The hotel is clean & not noisy so that is a plus It is directly across the street from sportzendrum While staying in Grindlewald they do give you a discount pass for bus train & sports center I would stay in interleuken if I had to do it again . The folks in Grindlewald businesses are not appreciative of tourist AT ALL

The breakfast was not very good. Very few choices. Not at all what I was expecting. But while it was the worst I had experienced in Europe for this trip, it still beat trying to go out to find a place for breakfast. On the morning PRIOR to us leaving, I let the manager know I would need an early morning Go-Breakfast. Not only did I not get that, there was no one at the desk. I had to just leave my key in a designated place. As for the balcony view, it was PERFECT!! This hotel is located SO CLOSE to the train station and is located next to a chocolate shop, shopping is not far from here, and the trails are literally across the street. There is also an indoor pool across the street at the sports complex. I would say to go to the indoor pool there only if you are desperate to entertain your children. It is not a great facility. But as for Hotel Bernerhof Grindelwald, would I stay there again if I had to return to Grndelwald,yes, I would.

Amazing! 100% recommend this place!

I had a beautiful stay here. The location and view of the Eiger from the hotel terrace are amazing. I wish they would allow visitors to sit and relax there past 9 PM but I guess it makes sense to keep it quiet for the surrounding hotel rooms. The breakfast in the morning was also really good. The hotel has a fan in the room but the room was still really hot so maybe a portable A/C would be nice to offer guests in the heat of summer. Overall I really enjoyed staying here.

The hotel was in a convenient location easily accessible to the train station and bus access. Grocery, restaurants and shopping were within easy walking distance and Grindelwald First Gondola was less than 1/2 a mile away. The staff were friendly and the daily breakfast was fresh and yummy! The rooms are somewhat dated with very small bathrooms but clean and functioning. Would stay again.

Aimee was wonderful. Made us feel welcome and even helped with directions and suggested some local activities and shared the discount code. Great service.

The staff was excellent and went out of their way to be helpful-whether it was extra towels, directions to Lauterbrunnen, or providing extra ice, they were wonderful and did it with a smile. All staff was multi-lingual, which made the stay even more enjoyable.

The staff were very friendly, the view of the alps was amazing! The location is also right in front of the grindelwald station

Unfortunately, this hotel felt cheap and outdated despite the price charged. Yes, the location is excellent, right in Grindelwald and close to the train station, and the mountain view from the balcony is beautiful. However, compared to other older hotels we stayed at in Zermatt and Pontresina, this hotel fell far short of expectations. The walls are paper thin — you can hear your neighbours very clearly. The room is extremely small and not particularly functional. The bathroom and shower are so tiny that they are difficult to use comfortably. Overall, everything feels low quality, from the artificial plastic flowers in the reception area to many aspects of the room itself. As we were dissatisfied, we inquired about shortening our stay and receiving a partial refund for one or two nights. The receptionist was kind and offered to discuss the matter with the manager, but our request was ultimately refused without much explanation or flexibility. While the location and view are definite positives, the overall experience did not meet our expectations for the price paid.

The property is a few steps away from the train and bus station so this makes it very convenient for moving about. The breakfast is really good with lots of options. If you’re travelling on a budget, you can get food from Coop and the breakfast room can be used to warm or have your meal (especially convenient when travelling in groups because the rooms are not very large). They even provide cutlery/ plates and cups.

It was small little cute hotel. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good. Only one issue, it was very hot, no air conditioning. Though they provided us a very small fan which was not enough. Otherwise it was great place to stay.

Pros - near the station, great view of Eiger Cons - room service is not good, microoven is not acceusible after 9, they have rules like hostel, wifi is terrible.

We reached a day late and were almost close to the checkout time, even then the reception allowed us to check in and freshen up. The reception staff was very cordial and courteous enough to guide us through our stay and pointed us in the direction to visit places which otherwise we would have missed.
