La Terrasse is a beautiful place in a great area! It is conveniently located near the main attractions but in an area where your stay can still be relaxing and peaceful. The staff is beyond wonderful and the breakfast is well worth it. Did not experience the dinner /dinning options at night but the menu looked amazing as well. Will definitely return here.

The gorgeous location of this ancient property is a real draw. However the modest cost of the accommodation is perhaps reflected in the rather basic room. It has everything one needs but is could do with a refurb. One of the main attractions of the establishment is the restaurant with its terrace overlooking the river below. The menu options are rather pricey and we felt the food was good but not outstanding. Service was fine and the owner of the hotel who is also around on reception as well as serving on tables couldn’t have been more charming - she also speaks English and Spanish (and possibly other languages).

Lovely staying in an old castle but it does come with some challenges. There are a lot of curved stair cases and no elevators. Scenery is beautiful and the village is very quaint and peaceful.

This property exceeded all of our expectations. We arrived early and were allowed to check in without any fuss and were shown to a wonderful room (No 1) with a stunning view of the river. We had lunch in the restaurant and while I went to watch the Tour de France, my wife relaxed in the room and walked the dog by the river. The pool was a welcome relief after a hot day and dinner on the terrace was superb. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, it was just perfect. It was a shame we only stayed one night.

Easy to find, a short distance from the motorway. We parked 20 metres away in the small village by the church. We checked in and were shown to our room. The room was fine. The bed a little soft. A separate loo and shower which only ever happens in France these days. But no one really cares about the room as long as it is clean and contains a bed when you stay here! This stay is all about the food. Which was fabulous. So yes we will visit again. For the food. And the lady of the house who was charming. Almost forgot we had a lovely little walk around the village. Perhaps 40 minutes worth. Very peaceful.

Lovely hotel, wonderful dinner with an inspired chef who did things like a wonderful courgette starter serving courgette and flower. Delicious fish and meat dishes too. Comfortable bed, generous towels. Excellent breakfast and swimming pool with a great view. All in all, perfect!

This place is pretty cool. It has a nice location sitting at the end and over looking the bridge and the river. Its very much castle like on the interior with winding staircases made feom stone. The food was really really good. Service amazing. We would def recommend staying

Wonderful stay in a bishop's house built in the 11th century, made so much better by our hostess, Francois! Truly a ace we will recommend to all.

The hotel is in a good location if you have a car to access the places to visit. Around 20 minutes to get to the known sites. The room was outdated, not worth the price, the staff are lovely so made up for it, but we wouldn't stay again purely because the prices are too much for what the rooms are. Our room was spacious but just so out of date; not in the charming way. A bit like staying at your grandmothers house sort of feeling. We were on the top floor thankfully so it was ok for noise but it is the type of place where you hear every creak and movement of someone above you or beside you. The restaurant was ok, not worth the menu price for us either though.

A beautiful small hotel in idylic tranquil position in small hamlet by the Dordogne river - which was incidently perfect for a quick swim to cool off before dinner. Hotel also has lovely swimming pool for the less adventurous. We stayed in a junior suite which was perfect in every way with a double sofa bed for our daughter in a separate room. Our only complaint would be the small unlined curtains that let plenty of light in early. The dinner and breakfast were both fantastic.

It was not clear that it was a chateau, until we arrived. Extremely helpful, kind receptionist/manager, who encouraged us to explore the whole place and enjoy its beautiful furnishings and décor. An excellent chef as well.

A beautifully appointed room and a friendly welcome were the start of our two day stay in late September 2015. On the first night we ate in the hotel's restaurant and enjoyed a 5 course meal, which was delicious. The dining room is nicely decorated, which added to the atmosphere. On the second night we ate away from the restaurant, which requires driving to another town as there are no other eating places in Meyronne. On the downsides, the wifi was not working, but we were assured it is being rectified. While there is no lift, our bags were taken to our room.

This Chateau is run by a family of 4 generations and has the feel that you have been welcomed into a family home vs a lavish chateau. It is well situated in the center of the major attractions of the area and peacefully overlooks the Dordogne river. There are many small medieval towns within 30 minutes. I would recommend this hotel to those wishing a true local experience. it also has a high-end restaurant know in the region for fine food and a terrace that is to die for,

La Terrasse is a castle dating from the 11th century that sits dramatically in a small village on a hill overlooking the river. If you are looking for a romantic setting in the country that is only a short drive from the major sights in the area, La Terrasse is the perfect place. We stayed in 3 hotels in the Dordogne area and this one was by far the best. The gourmet evening meals on the terrace are worth a trip to the castle even if you are not staying there. The experience in this idyllic setting is enhanced by the charm and warmth of the lady who owns and manages the hotel. I will strongly recommend La Terrasse to my friends.
