The staff were welcoming initially but when we left on Wednesday 1st April the lady doing the breakfast and checkout was clearly stressed. This resulted in her being abrupt with hotel guests at the breakfast table. We could hear her complaining about lack of staff and that she was having to do too much. She also commented on someone asking for brown and white toast as “being weird”. The bedding and towels were clean but there was mould on the bedroom windows and the bath. The food was great in the restaurant.

The room was lovely but neither bed side lights worked and the kettle was in great need to be descaled. Apart from that, it was all very satisfactory and the breakfast was excellent.

We were extremely pleased with Dunkerleys. The room and hotel was very clean and welcoming. The staff were not only efficient,hard working,but always happy and obliging. The food was very good and the bar adequate. We will certainly go back.

Quiet room, good facilities

Beautiful hotel, spotlessly clean, friendly staff, excellent breakfast & lovely seafront location, couldn’t have asked for more.

Nice full breakfast. Great coffee. Very cordial staff. Very clean. Comfy beds. Wifi was excellent. Had a nice hot shower with good water pressure, even though I was on the top floor. Close to the station and walking distance from pretty much everything. Ian Dunkerley is a national treasure. Was such a pleasure to meet him. The view of the water from my room windows was phenomenal. Had a wonderful stay. Eager to return soon.

Simple but adequate room for an overnight stay. Excellent breakfast with friendly service. The hotel has a good position.

Honestly the staff were amazing from check in to leaving. The room was lovely and clean. The bed was so comfortable best night sleep. Then to top it off the breakfast it was truly amazing. If ever in Deal again i would definitely stay there again.

This was a cute city break stay. It was lovely for what it is. Staff was accommodating room, was clean and bathroom spotless. I would say it was as it shown on the pictures.

Have stayed here on several occasions over the years. Happy with service from staff and comfort of room 4, although bathroom radiator was still not working, (had same room previously). The disappointment was with the breakfast, this seems to have gone downhill a bit. Choice of breakfast cereals, fruit and juice, then cooked meal. I had scrambled eggs, which was dried and bland, (used to be delicious) and half a tomato, both of which were luke warm, not forgetting one slice of toast! My husband had full English which was smaller than usual, his was also luke warm. Used to have yogurt on table where cereals were, but none there, maybe you had to ask. There was no music on, so no atmosphere, again used to be. Hopefully this was a one off as we do enjoy our stays at Dunkerley’s.

The staff were excellent from first walking through in to reception to the time we left. The room was very good, clean and had all you needed. The food was excellent and service matched the food. A very enjoyable stay and will definitely be come back next year.

Fantastic friendly staff on reception and in the breakfast room. The room and bathroom were very tired & dated.

Fun seaside hotel with easy access to all that Deal has to offer!

We had such a lovely time in Deal. The hotel with its great location, excellent food and drinks. Clean rooms, although the cushions by the window seat and walls may need a repaint due to damp. The nuts at breakfast also need to be replaced. Other than that, we would definitely stay again and recommend anyone to stay. Thank you.
