Pleasant riad with helpful staff. About a 10 minute walk to the historical ramparts. Portugese Cistern is closed for repairs. About 1/2 hour walk to area with choices of restaurants. Area around the riad was not a touristed area at all. We stopped in El Jadida en route to Casablanca instead of returning to Marrakech from Essaouira, and travelling to Casablanca from Marrakech. However, in hindsight that might have been a better option.

The riad is a peaceful space, with welcoming staff and beautiful rooms. My outstanding critique is that the water pressure in the bathroom was relatively weak and inconsistent; there was also a part of one day that the bath faucet seemed to run out, and the toilet would not flush. Otherwise, things seemed in order, and we appreciated the kindness of the service. Thank you for a memorable stay.

The hotel itself was clean and well kept with a few areas requiring maintenance shower controls were problematic with not being able to get a constant temperature staff were friendly and food was average with not much in the way of vegetables with each meal, if given the choice next time I would not stay at this hotel.

The riad itself beautiful, with a gorgeous garden and terrace, it looks dated and in dire need of a touch up. The room was spacious but wasn’t as clean as we would have expected. Unfortunately, upon arrival the hotel manager / front desk lady didn’t greet us with much enthusiasm or warm hospitality. No information was provided for our stay, and when asked about recommendations, she responded with indifference. The same cannot be said about the other hotel staff however, both the porter (Rashid) and the breakfast lady were both hospitable and friendly.

The place is beautiful in terms of architecture and decoration. It is centrally located and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. It is just a bit noisy at night due to a nearby mosque making religious calls.

This property was so calm and quiet that it felt like a sanctuary. We were truly able to relax and just enjoy our very short time in El jadida but the riad made the trip excellent. Breakfast is very delicious here and they make an omlette! As an aside, most of the staff we encountered spoke primarily in french.

Because of review was expecting the wow factor. We chose this because it said they speak English and help you with tourist guides etc. In fact nobody spoke any English therefore we couldn't answer any questions. There was 1 guy there who was very helpful. He was the one we saw doing all the maintenance and cleaning communal areas. Helped us with luggage and parking. This is NOT an easy place to find. But the locals know where you are looking for and point you in the right direction. NO TOWELS!!!! NONE!!! And NO HOT WATER. Well to be honest there was hardly any cold either. It was a mere trickle!!! Maybe that's why no towels as they don't expect you to shower! ! Booked a massage for 30 minutes. She was 20 minutes late and ot was a very rushed 25 minute massage. Not at all relaxing. No pr8vacy. Made me strip off in front of her and the curtains were open. Could hear guests outside in courtyard. Also her phone kept beeping messages. Further out from souks than expected. Unfortunately wouldn't stay again. No bottled water in room even though stays will be VERY NOISY. No key to front door so ring bell to get in. At all hours!!! 11pm. Midnight. 1am. Then the prayer siren 5am and 7am. Needless to say very little sleep either.

Beautiful riad with friendly, hospitable staff. The patio is a serene oasis where you can sit and sip mint tea and just soak in the atmosphere. The rooms are all styled uniquely and are sophisticated and tasteful. Amenities are fully provided. You could really just spend the entire day within the riad, would totally recommend it.

this is a lovely property. We enjoyed everything about it. The staff was very pleasant, the service was great. Our room was lovely. It could have done with some more light. It was hard to see to read. The breakfast was very good--but most Moroccan breakfasts are quite similar. the staff kindly showed us how to get to where we wanted to go.

The hospitality and service from everyone was exceptional. Food was delicious. Had a relaxing end to our 2-week holiday throughout Morocco. If arriving by car, a tip is to just pull up to the Riad and then they will assist in showing you the best parking location. The only thing to be aware of...the dinner prices were a bit higher than we experienced during our previous 2-weeks throughout Morocco; but still a lovely splurge and we really enjoyed our dinner. We especially enjoyed the games area with comfortable seating.

The riad was very nice and the staff amazing. There were not many other people staying there when we were, so not sure how the experience would change when occupancy is higher. However, the staff bent over backwards to make sure we were taken care of throughout the stay. Our only issue was the loud speaker next door for the mosque, which was exceptionally loud at all hours. I realize the riad can't change this, but future guests should be aware (early and late hour calls to prayer, that are very loud).

The Riad is well managed. The room is very comfortable. The breakfast on the roof was great and it was the best of the three Riads we stayed in during our six days visit to Casablanca, Marrakesh and El Jadida. The manager and staff are very helpful and friendly. Overall it was a positive experience.

When we booked our stay at Riad Soleil d'orient in El Jadida, we THOUGHT it was in Casablanca, but soon found out that it was a little over an hour away! Being adventurous, we decided to keep our reservation, and boy, were we GLAD that we did, as opposed to staying in Casablanca! Riad Soleil was just what we needed to begin our wonderful experience in Morocco. The owner, Olivier, was very welcoming and friendly, and although we didn't speak much French, and he didn't speak much English, we made it work, and had a great time there. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The riad itself is stunning with its garden and individually themed guest rooms. Also loved the roof terrace. Breakfast was sumptuous and delicious, as was dinner. The calls to prayer from the nearby mosque were spiritual, calming, and interesting, even though they woke me up early in the morning, but that is a part of being in an Islamic country. I'm Christian, but was uplifted and inspired by the importance that prayer has in the daily lives of Moroccans.

The entry to this beautiful retreat is like a doorway to tranquility. Some of the trees in the courtyard are fruit bearing - a fig dropped after breakfast one morning and was presented to us washed on a plate and ready to enjoy. The meals are beautifully presented, full of flavor, aromas and imagination. Relaxing on the roof with Georges, the house dog, reading, thinking and listening to the calls to prayer waft across the city helped settle my mind and prepare me for the rest of my visit to Morocco. I left with nothing but moments to smile about.
