Christine and Jay are wonderful hosts at their beautiful home in GumboLimbo Jungle. Every guest is treated like family and they provide endless helpful tips for visitors. Food was fresh and tasty, drinks cold, and conversation plentiful! A great place to stay in Cayo!

My husband and I truly enjoyed our 4 nights at Gumbo Limbo. It’s a nature-lovers paradise, but so much more. Our honeymoon cabana was spacious with a comfortable bed and linens to die for…the bathroom was large and everything was well-appointed and clean. It was luxury jungle living without any pretentiousness. The grounds and pool area are truly exquisite— and though Christine, the host, would say there is so much more they want to do with the property, I would argue at this affordable price point— Gumbo Limbo is absolutely perfect just the way it is. This was our first trip to Belize with our primary goal to experience the amazing Mayan ruins and get a quick taste of the San Ignacio area— we did that and look forward to a return trip (staying at Gumbo Limbo) where we can do a deeper dive into the culture. Thank you, Christine, Jay and staff😊

Gorgeous views. The owners live on site and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. They also recommended a great local tour company (Belize Nature Travel). The food was delicious. Highly recommend.

I went to Belize by myself but I never felt alone. Jay & Christine (and the guests) were all so incredibly friendly. We convened nightly fur dinner, drinks, and conversation. I would return to this resort again & again! A car is definitely needed to stay at the resort and for exploring the local area.

This is absolutely an idyllic place to stay, we left feeling like family. It's beautiful and so small that all the guests get quite friendly as well. They have many resources and can set up anything you need, and the food and drinks are delicious. You should have a car to stay here as it's a little bit out of Georgeville and a little further from San Ignacio, but I can't imagine staying in town versus this lovely friendly place. The pool is a welcome addition for a dip at the end of the day!

Excellent hosts! We arrived late in the evening for a 1-nught stay. The property was clean, the bedroims were clean and the beds were very comfortable. As nice as the property was, the real treat was the hosts. They were exceptionally friendly, kind, and hospitable. The banana bread and fruit for breakfast was delicious! We will definitely be back!

Gumbo Limbo is a true oasis tucked into the jungle! Our family of five couldn't have been happier to have stayed there. The owners and hosts, Christine and Jay are an absolute pleasure. The property itself is immaculate and well appointed. Their commitment to sustainability and eco-tourism is greatly appreciated. It's obvious they care about the community around them and doing what they can to be good stewards of the land and resources of Belize. The property is a perfect jump off spot for countless adventures in the immediately surrounding area. You could easily stay here for months and not do the same thing twice.

Great location, quit isolated which is what we came for. Easy access to the main attractions - driveway needs to be improved for better access but otherwise we had a grat time. Hosts were very kind and took care of anything we needed. Would come back again !

This lodge is owned and operated by a super nice couple who go out of their way to make things great for the guests, including helping our young teens machete up some coconuts they found out hiking. It has a VERY convenient location near San Ignacio and many things to do (our favorites include the Rio Frio River sites like the caves and pools).
