The hotel is nice and the staff are nice, but it is far from the Plaza Del Armes. I tried to walk and got lost on the way back when my phone died. It isn’t around other hotels.
I stayed here 2 nights, but sadly I didn’t get to enjoy the breakfast either day since it doesn’t start until 7am. For a hotel catering to tourists visiting Machu Picchu, that is late. The staff told me the first day I could get breakfast early, but the next morning they said they had a bag lunch (bologna sandwich, apple and water). I got the same thing the second morning. An earlier breakfast would have been nice!
The shuttle to the airport isn’t free. I had to pay 35 sol to be picked up (they await with a sign) and another 20 (was told it was 15 but the taxi driver tried to charge me 35 again before lowering to 20) to get dropped off at the airport. Basically the hotel calls the taxi for you. Beware of taxi drivers trying to charge you the tourist rate (as happened to me). My taxi driver for the return trip to the airport didn’t come initially and had to be called a second time and came about 15-20 minutes late.
The tea on each floor was nice. Lots of dogs in the neighborhood, so it unfortunately wasn’t quiet at night. Overall, not bad for the price, but the lack of an early breakfast and taxi issues made it less enjoyable.
