All was good,near to town,excellent breakfasts,perfect for us.

Very quiet and comfortable!

The main problem with this hotel was the lack of parking spaces. Apart from this, the hotel is nice and comfortable and not too far from the main town area of Celle.

Caroline Mathilde has truly evolved over the past few years. The location is quiet and very close to the town centre. The staff are professional, friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is plentiful, well presented and delicious. The pool is pure bliss. Pillow gummy bears are a nice touch :-) Thanks to all the staff and special shoutout to Wiebke who made our stay enjoyable.

We had a 3 days stay in Celle, and we where very pleased with the comfort of this hotel. We used the swimming pool, which is a very nice extra. Breakfast is excellent, the only thing that could be better is the restaurant. We only used in one time, and it does not live up to the same high standard as the rest of the hotel. It can not be recommended, You get a much better meal in Celle town.

Nice hotel in a nice town

Perfectly good hotel for a couple of nights stay. Clean, great breakfast and good bedrooms.

The only beer they had was Bitburger. That is literally the only thing I can complain about!

Great breakfast ! Walking distance to historic city!

The hotel was close to the town centre. The hotel is okay but there seemed to be no restaurant on some nights of the week and the quilts in the room were quite small. They could do with investing in better bed linen.

The hotel is well situated across the river and near to the old town. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The in-room air conditioner worked well and was not too noisy. For those who need an elevator, it worked well. The breakfast was hearty and tasty and the service was very good. The grounds are landscaped and quite pleasant. I think I will stay here again, but there are some drawbacks. • The walls are thick, so you do not hear anything the adjacent room, but I was on the 3rd floor, and whoever had the room above me did a lot of walking around. I heard every footstep. • The door lock was fine, but the deadbolt lock did not. I left the bathroom door open in case any of the staff were to enter unexpectedly, but this was never a problem. • The door to the cabinet that houses the in-room coffee maker came off its hinges and was on the floor leaning on the cabinet. I stayed 4 nights, and it was never repaired. I did not report it, as I thought housekeeping would be on top of this. Apparently not. • There are several power outlets around the room, but there is only one plug per outlet. If you want to work at the desk, you must choose between the lamp and power for your laptop. (at checkout, I was told there are business rooms available with better access) • The Wi-Fi worked fine, but you can only connect one device at a time. (I did not think to ask for a separate pass code.)

Nice hotel, pleasant surroundings, comfortable room but bathroom was small, shower very tight and difficult to access by climbing over the fairly high tub wall, a difficult task for elderly persons (Fotos picturing the room showed a walk-in shower, not a tub/shower combo). Also, bathroom suffered from an unpleasant sewage-like odor coming from either the sink or the bathtub drain which - despite spraying perfume- could not be eliminated.

Lovely setting in Celle. Useful to have parking behind the hotel although at busy times may be a squeeze. Booked a triple room with a double and a baby cot which was a very tight squeeze with suitcases as well. Room facilities were very basic, old fashioned, although very clean. The reception staff were very friendly and efficient, the breakfast buffet was fresh and plentiful. Ideal for a one night stop over.

This hotel is a rare gem! I have stayed there twice, and will definitely return whenever my travel takes me to Celle.
