We literally had the best room in the whole place. Located on the lagoon with a dock with two chairs and our own private tub out front it was like our own private paradise. The staff was sweet and friendly and gracious. We ate breakfast at the restaurant every day and got drinks and dinner from them also. Salvador was so sweet and friendly when checking us in and Abel was not only the “water activities director “ ( aka lent our kayaks and SUPs) but took us out on a boat tour with some other folks. On our second day we did the boat tour offered by the hotel and it was amazing! Abel gave us all sorts of information and education about the lagoon as we cruised… Halfway through the tour a giant squall hit and we were pelted with the rain storm, in the amazing warm water. Luckily it was all adults and we are having the best time so we all got in the water and swam and exfoliated ourselves with the sand and laughed together. Then the sun came out and we continued on and went to the Pirates Cove where we laughed and drink beer and had an amazing day . The restaurant staff were fantastic and brought my husband breakfast dessert and welcomed us every day . When we got home I asked him what his favorite part was and he said the boat ride at Bacalar ❤️ we hated to leave and will absolutely return. The water was the clearest and purest we’ve ever been in and those seven colors aren’t a joke. Thank you so much for our stay❤️❤️❤️

The lighting was horrible. Especially the bathroom lighting Staff was excellent , very attentive courteous no other complaints but the lighting

The room was clean the priperty too. We did not use the pool or have breakfeast as we had to leave early but dinner was delicious and they made it extra special as it was my moms bday and played the mañanitas for us and beought out a special cheesecake

We stayed at Rancho Encantado for the weekend, and it was an incredible experience. A special thank you to José at the restaurant, his service was outstanding. Also, Vega, the paddleboard instructor, was amazing. Such a kind and patient person. He really helped my wife feel comfortable trying new things, she even went kayaking and paddleboarding, which she normally wouldn’t do! The sunrise over the lagoon was absolutely beautiful, and the water is simply stunning. We also did the 2-hour lagoon tour, and it was a great experience. We truly enjoyed it. The food deserves a special mention: excellent quality, and the presentation of each dish was professional and impressive. All the staff were welcoming, and the atmosphere of the place makes you want to stay more than just a couple of nights. We will definitely come back. And the photos we took are just beautiful!

Incredible property, wonderful staff and excellent restaurant, the complete package. It’s hard to find a place that checks all the boxes, this place does. Book a lakeside room you won’t be disappointed. We can’t wait to return!

We love this place! We had a nice water front cabana, with a terrace and dock. It was very nice and clean, bed was comfortable with a separate sitting area, spacious bathroom, mini bar (with complimentary coffee and tea) shelves for your belongings. Property grounds were well kept, surrounded with plants and trees. They have a pool and jacuzzi which is nice, however, depending on the time of day or the number of guests they have it can be a little too crowded. The restaurant was right on the water so you have a fantastic view of the lagoon. The food were delicious. We had all kinds of tacos (our favorite was the conchinita pibil and pulpo), the cheese empanadas were also tasty and fresh. The burger was great, too. I enjoyed drinking their mojitos and piñacolada. For breakfast, they have a few options. They also served dofferent konds of bread. However, I do find their coffee served during breakfast watery. Generally, Staff were very helfpul and friendly especially Willy (restaurant staff) and Santos (boat operator). I felt that the servers during breakfast were not as attentive compared to other servers during dinner time (e.g they only go around once to ask you if you would like more bread served, or coffee and tea). Service can definitely be improved on. We also did the lagoon tour 2x (1 private and 1 with other guests), both tomes were awesome! We liked Santos, the boat driver. He’s funny, easy going and friendly. The massagd was amazing! We will be back!

The accommodations, cleanliness and staff are very nice. The lagoon was calm when we visited and it was fun to use the kayaks and the boat tour of the lagoon originating right from the little pier at the hotel was exemplary. The only thing that was a bit annoying was the loud sound of leaf blowers to disturb the calm of this lovely resort so maybe not doing that every day would be so much better or hand raking…
