The Hotel is a Riad. Ie rooms arranged around a central space with a marble fountain. A traditional Moroccan house right in the middle of the Medina, tiny street no cars. Great location, lovely careful hosts who speak several languages fluently. Very small felt as though you were part of a family. Safe.

Pros: - Large room - Great breakfast Cons: - A bit of a hike from transport - The room is a bit dark and you can hear pretty much everything from other rooms and the dining downstairs. If someone coughs or sneezes or blows their nose from other rooms, you will hear it. - airport transfer double what others charge - don't take their tours, that's also double the price - we got charged city tax that included our 7 yo kid even though they're only meant to charge 12yo and over.

We really enjoyed this riad. The location is excellent, the riad itself is very polished, and the staff are excellent. We arrived quite late and the staff kindly made us dinner. Our flight out was early and again, the staff went the extra mile to make us a to-go breakfast. The only minor criticisms are that it is a quite small riad and can be a little loud but we personally had no issues sleeping. The room was also quite dark even with all the lights on. These are minor complaints and I would happily stay there again!

I had a 10 day trip in Marrakesh, so I booked 4 riads to experience the different architecture. All of them are 4 stars riads and Riad Sohane is the most average out of the 4. It felt like a 3 star riad in terms of decor, amenities and services. I liked my stays at the other 3 riads much more: Riad Kaiss, Riad Anika, Riad Jona.

We had an amazing stay at this lovely Oasis a few minutes from the busyness of the Medina. Our host Samir and Franck could not do enough to make our stay comfortable. We were given advice on how to get the best deals, best places to eat and approximate prices for everything. The showers were gorgeous and the breakfast was generous and tasty.

Let me get the worst part out of the experience out of the way: The Riyad people tried to pull out typical scam on me when leaving. Even though whole stay was pre-paid and even though I saw receipt, the guy charged my credit card (which he somehow had access through Expedia). When I argued and made sure he understands I would take action, he finally backed off saying "his manager would pay out of his pocket for me". If you have read reviews of Marrakech riads you would have seen this exact tactic used over and over on naive tourist to scoff extra cash out of them. They tried to did this to me even after I tipped the guy $10/day. Apart from this, the riad is good place to stay but expect to leave with bad taste in your mouth. The building is traditional courtyard based Riyad however nothing too fancy. It's clean, its functional and everything including AC works. Terrace has great view of surrounding medina however breakfast is served in courtyard. Breakfast is bread, jelly, butter, orange juice and coffee. Again basic stuff and I have had better in similarly priced other riads. One big issue is with shower which is 1/3rd open in center so expect to splash water going out and make mess. The location is OK - inside medina where cars cannot go. The car would stop about 10-15 minutes walking so if you had big bags you can either expect to sweat or take service of portor who will approach you anyway. Absolutely make sure to agree on price. Locals pay about $2.5 and tourists $5.

The service is excellent, and the hotel is beautiful. Immediately when walking into this riad, was sat down and brought some mint tea while filling out paperwork for hotel. Then was given a tour of the riad and guided to room. Breakfast is brought out to your table and it is very cute and delicious. Centrally located, only 5 min walk to the main Jama el fna square. Definitely recommend Dar Sohane and would stay here again if ever back in Marrakesh.

The property itself was modern and very beautiful. Breakfast was wonderful every morning. Staff was amazing and very helpful. The location was a little hard to find at first but with the help of google maps and some practice navigating the labyrinths it became much easier to find.

Loved Dar Sohane and the staff was helpful and kind. A beautiful riad within a few minutes walk of Jamaa el Fna, Bahia and Bidi Palaces. The staff booked taxi transfer for us and reservations for lunch and dinner as well as laundry provided. Such a wonderful location. We stayed 3 days at the end of a tour of Morocco and thoroughly enjoyed our mint tea with merchants in the souk and lunch a Mamounia stated by Conde Nast as the best hotel in Africa.

This was the first place that we stayed in Morocco and it set the bar very high for service and quality for the remainder of our trip. Breakfast was great, the room and public space was very clean. The location was great as it put us close to everything we wanted to see, but still far enough away so that we never heard any of the noise and celebrations from the square at night. on a slightly odd note, this riad also should boast about their great pillows - which after traveling around Morocco, seems to be a bit of a rarity. The rooms are large and spacious. We would definitely stay here again.
