The staff were very attentive to our request to accommodate my dad who has poor mobility and ensured that he was near both the reception and breakfast room. The staff were all kind and friendly. Everything was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and nice quality linen, however, we felt the en-suite bathroom could do with an update.

My stay was an awesome experience! The service from the staff was very welcoming, attentive, friendly and helpful. The food was first class, and very generous portions! The rooms were a very good size and clean, which made for a comfortable night's sleep. A great place to stay, and will stay again!

Room on 1st impression looked good but the age of the room is showing. Bathroom is dated with a shower that is as useful as a chocolate teapot. No pressure and impossible to wash off soap past the chest. Had to run the half size bath to do that. The taps were worn out and stains over surfaces. The carpet was worn out in several places. Booked a room over viewing the garden. Great, you could just see the bear garden through the trees. The window was a massive surprise. The surprise being H&S allow it. 1st and the window slides opens 4 feet wide, and has a window seat. No railings to stop anyone falling out the 20 foot drop onto a hard ground below. The food in the restaurant was very limited and half the items were NOT available. What did come out was clearly made by microwave technicians and was more on par with Morrisons cafe that a hotel restaurant. For the price of the room and food, I was highly disappointed with this hotel.

Easy parking

This is a no frills comfortable easily accessibly hotel. It is clean , tidy and rooms are comfortable . Staff were very welcoming and helpful, although it was fairly obvious were short on numbers this visit. Good pub style menu for restaurant and breakfast choice was good . This is an overnight stay with good value for money.

Although the room was clean, and the beds comfortable, overall the room needed a complete update. Wallpaper very tired and patched, in places peeling. On two occasions we found ants in the room, once in the bed. When reported to staff exchange of room was offered. Breakfast was very good, plenty of variety both hot and cold. All staff were both helpful and friendly. Adequate parking spaces.

Hotel room was a bit tired looking but big and comfortable. The staff were lovely ,food and drink very good and very reasonable. Nice garden and a fabulous breakfast.

Not good because no ac and very old building

Self check-in failed to work. Had to wait for a staff member to do everything again in order to print keycard correctly, what a waste of time. Room stifling hot and windows didn’t open. One window pane appeared to be missing from the two layers which should’ve been present - leading to road noise being very evident throughout the night. Bath and sink drains both blocked and then stank of sewerage soon after. Overall, and appalling place to stay.

Enjoyable stay

The staff was great but some of the decor needs attention fire detector in my room was hanging down room 215 also disappointed that the restaurant was closed on Friday and Saturday evening so had to drive into town to get a meal.

Only stayed 1 night but it was very good. The room and ensuite bathroom were clean and spacious. The buffet style breakfast had full cooked and continental which was excellent. Highly recommend

The staff were all excellent The parking very good Ev chargers made a difference Our room 305 was a top rated room but could be made better with a few little tweaks. Eg Some of the tiles over the bath need re grouting as do a couple of floor tiles. The fire escape windows could not be locked properly which gave us a bit of worry about security while we were not in the room. The outside seating area next to the dining room was overgrown and had lots of weeds. I don’t want to complain and I will certainly book again and recommend the hotel . I’m pointing out these easily fixed things to help you.

Generally clean although bathroom had hair all over floor. The wood in all areas, (doors, dining tables etc) was sticky. I think not necessarily dirty, more likely due to products used on wood but quite off-putting when touching. Rooms a little tired, carpet old, musty smell, table very wobbly & bathroom definitely in need of a re fit. Our check in was fine but friends we were with had trouble when checking in later with night staff not speaking or understanding much English so spent nearly an hour, after midnight & with a small child with them, trying to sort out confusion with rooms that were booked & confirmed but being told they didn't have a room as had been cancelled...after a long day at a wedding not what you need. Breakfast room nice & clean (apart from sticky tables) coffee & breakfast all good. Ok for an overnight stay but I personally wouldn't stay longer

Room was so hot unfortunately no air conditioning. Shower was a trickle On a positive note breakfast was good - plenty of choice
