The new landlady was the best!, genuinely caring and helpfull as were all the staff and locals. She even gave me a nice little goodbye this morning. She did everthing she could for a lady that broke down in her car last night

Room was fine, stayed in the middle of a heatwave and the AC in the room worked a treat. No gluten free options could be accommodated at breakfast so I went elsewhere.

Great place to stay for a short break! fantastic ,friendly staff!! Excellent food! Lovely old building in great area. What's not to like?

Very pleasant welcoming staff great location for us as we were attending a party nearby. Pleasant and clean room and would use The Star again if we have to return to the area

Our stay was great. The only disappointment was the shower. It wasn't very powerful and the temperature was unreliable. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly. The continental breakfast was very good so it wasn't necessary to order additional cooked items.

Would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Staff were lovely. Friendly, helpful and efficient. Room was very clean, well appointed and cosy. Bed was comfortable. Bar / restaurant offered excellent food and drinks both in the evening and next morning for breakfast. Continental Breakfast included in the price was more than sufficient for our needs. Hopefully we'll get another opportunity to stay there.

Lovely staff, great sized room, lovely shower, fab food in the pub, great continental breakfast included and the paid for hot breakfast looked massive!!

Friendly staff with great rooms and good food. Plus a perfect pint. You would have difficulty finding anywhere better to stay. Very quiet and peaceful village. First class. Thank you for the stay.

A lovely old countryside Inn which has been modernised to an excellent standard whilst maintaining the old features The bedrooms are of a good size with comfy beds and stylish ensuite with powerful shower The room we stayed in also had the added benefit of air conditioning which was welcoming indeed with the ouyside temps being over 30^c Food service and all staff were excellent and all in all we found The Star to be a great place to stay

Really lovely place in beautiful location. Room was fabulous, very clean and comfortable. Was very quiet too and got an excellent nights sleep.The bar was great for a late night drink before bed, staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent ( cooked options not included in price) the only negative was there was no gluten free option. Would definitely stay again.

Really nice pub in the centre of the village, staff were friendly and happy to help, room was very nice and comfortable bed etc and the food in the restaurant was lovely. Only spoiled by really by local clientele in the bar area being loud, vulgar, misogynistic and racist laughing loudly over such jokes and old enough to know better. I’m no prude and travel widely but just no need in such a nice bar.

Cozy and ver clean abd comfortable

We stayed for one night after our spa day at Ragdale hall in this lovely traditional hotel/pub in the charming little village. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and absolutely spotless. We reserved a table in the restaurant and enjoyed a lovely meal and the included continental breakfast the next morning. Very accommodating host, thank you. Would highly recommend!
