Very clean. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Perfect location for Hampton Court Palace, or just lazing by the river. Historic building with many original features, including the squeakiest floorboards I've ever encountered. I thought it might be a little 'twee' and dated when I booked but the rooms and restaurants are a fabulous blend of original and modern with an excellent bed and bathroom. We arrived at lunchtime and had an excellent meal by the river in the sunshine - the food was so good we decided to book for the evening when they had a BBQ grill. Breakfast was also spot on. I booked this for the ideal location for our planned trip but would definitely recommend to others. The staff were friendly and helpful and a nice glass of wine on arrival as a welcome was the icing on the cake.

We traveled for 16 days around the United Kingdom. This place was a gem of a find. Old English charm on the Thames. The rooms were comfortable and cozy. The hotel staff went out of their way to make our stay amazing. It was the best spot on our trip. I can’t wait to come back.

The Mitre Hotel is in an excellent location on the River Thames, very close to Hampton Court Palace and good transport links. The staff are all very friendly. Message from the hotel stated parking is free but we had to pay for parking on check out.

A great stay

Lovely location and a warm welcome from very friendly and efficient staff. Our room was well equipped, comfortable and quiet. The hotel has a variety of areas for eating and drinking and it was a huge bonus that they had lovely outdoor areas as we visited during the heatwave. Our check out and departure was smooth and staff were again very helpful and accommodating in storing our luggage and organising transport for us. We would certainly recommend The Mitre and would happily stay there again.

Ggod breakfast, friendly staff. Excellent venue to access Hampton Court Palace, just make sure it is actually open to the public beforehand!

Room was nice, I didn’t have a child with me but the lion king books & cuddly toy on the kids bunk beds were cute. Hotel was nice, breakfast was fine for being included, with coffee, although coffee art needs work. Although the room was nice, the room we stayed in 101, was slightly disappointed with the fact I had a walkin washroom and not a bath, and the fact that the staff all hang around by the fire exist about 10 steps from the room and have zero respect for the room. They were laughing, shouting beyond midnight, and then woke me up before 7am which was highly frustrating. This room was also right next too the water refill station & the stairs for the reception. The room also had a courtyard, however there was a guy wandering up and down slamming what sounded like gates first thing in the morning too. Free Parking is limited to about 15 spaces. Having been in a better located room would have definitely helped. Could have been much better but was frustrating rather than disappointing. We were chatting to a member of staff at breakfast and mentioned the noise and he did laugh and say yeah we do all hang around in that area.

Staff excellent. Breakfast disappointing only 3 choices scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, full English or vegetarian English would have expected more variety ie eggs benedict etc.

From the moment we arrived all of the staff were lovely. The building was beautiful. Breakfast was amazing. Really lovely place and perfect location to explore the palace.

Very spacious room with good quality tea and coffee in the room. Excellent bespoke toiletries, which were also available for sale. Very close to station, and lovely river views from the bar, I would have like to have stayed longer.

Hotel is unique and lovely beside the river with amazing views, good bar with reasonable prices. We had a room in the annexe- room was quite small but added bonus of an outdoor seating area. But we struggled with the door entry last night- couldn’t get it open. Phoned reception- no answer, it was about 11.30pm. Found someone in the bar who helped to open the door- needed a heavy push to get in. Would have appreciated better and quicker support with this problem. Stairs everywhere so not good for accessibility but that’s to be expected in a building of this age. Great stay if visiting Hampton Court Palace, and the breakfast was very good.

Loved the wine on arrival with very attentive staff

I stayed at the Mitre several times during my visit to England. Not only is the location amazing, opposite Hampton Court Palace, on the River Thames, and close to Bushey Park, but the staff are fabulous. They go above and beyond. Professional, kind, thoughtful, helpful and welcoming. Special shoutout to Ashley, Sabrina, Alina and Blaze - thank you. Good to know - Air conditioning units were being installed in some of the bedrooms as I left!!

Beautiful & quaint & quirky room in a 17th Century building. Great shower. Very Comfy mattress! Staff: everybody was super friendly and helpful and chatty which is a great asset! Tommy at the restaurant and breakfast and Mariana were great .TOMMY IS INCREDIBLE! Breakfast: excellent salmon and poached eggs , good tea! Lunch : I only had different fish starters , excellent quality, the trout starter was fantastic, great asparagus! Location: superb location by the river ,next to Hampton Court palace. Good restaurants close by within walking distance. A wonderful stay

We had a classic double at the back of the hotel so window opened into a small courtyard. It was lovely and quiet and cool on what was the hottest couple of days in May since the 1940’s. Thankful for the fan. Room is nice, clean and comfy bed and nice bedding. Not spectacular but we certainly weren’t paying the top room prices and I was happy with our choice and cost for what we got. My only niggle was the fact that there is no full length mirror (or even half sized one) anywhere in the room. Plenty of walls to put one on so think that would be an easy improvement. Bathroom also needs a redecoration. Location is perfect for Hampton Court Palace and staff were very friendly. We arrived about midday and checking isn’t until 4pm but space was still found for our car. We visited the Palace then showered, changed and had a nice dinner in the Terrace. It was busy so service was a little slow but we were in no great hurry. Breakfast was lovely, good choice and lovely bright dining area overlooking the Thames. Check out at 11am so no morning rush which was nice. All in all very enjoyable and would definitely recommend the hotel.
