I have no complaints about this hotel. It was really great and ended up looking better in person than in the pictures. Very nicely decorated and a friendly staff is always a plus!

We spent four wonderful nights in this quiet yet convenient location. The staff were delightful and always willing to help. The room was beautiful and spotlessly clean.

Great 2-night stay, and perfect for relaxation. Lovely buffet breakfast served in the central area right outside our hotel room. This hotel is situated within a block walking distance to the plaza and other amazing walking streets. The hotel is beautifully furnished in the older colonial style with beautiful wooden doors and amazing architecture. Very quiet (only 8-9 rooms) and conducive to sound sleep even though it's in the heart of the city. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

This is a lovely older hotel ideally located in San Cristobal. However, we had problems with our check-in. We did not get the room that we booked: king bed, private terrace and a fireplace. We even showed them the pictures that the hotel had posted online and they claimed that they were not told that we wanted that room all the while that was the only room shown. So be sure to follow up with the hotel directly - they told us that the room we booked cost more and was also not available. They would not even give us a complimentary breakfast for our trouble. The woman who works at the front desk in the mornings was very apologetic, but the evening clerk was rude. We did not even get our complimentary welcome cocktail. The other staff were very kind and pleasant. Hotels.com was very accommodating and made it up to us!

Completely empty. Staff not helpful. Required a 1000 pesos deposit for "incidentals" but the clerk didn't know how to refund it. Definitely do not recommend.

My wife and I were very pleased with the hotel. It was very clean, and in a convenient location. The staff were very helpful. The hotel was very quiet, especially after the restaurant closed down. The restaurant served very good food and excellent coffee. We have been to San Cristobal several times, and we plan to stay at this hotel in the future.

Gorgeous hotel, GREAT location, excellent service with one important exception: advertised airport shuttle doesn’t exist. One of the oldest colonial buildings in SC, it is in the historic district, walking distance to everything. Nicely appointed room and bathroom (#2 described well by another reviewer). Plenty of hot water, great shower head, very comfortable bed. So grateful for the electric room heater! About four of seven rooms are arranged colonial-style around the dining area set in an inside courtyard, gorgeously appointed, filled with natural light. Beautiful common areas: reading room, store, back garden patio. Limited but delicious breakfast included in our discounted price (50% off) for Feb 27-28. Great staff! Very helpful, friendly. Noise from nightlife and dining area never woke us but ear plugs are advisable. The shuttle was one reason I chose this hotel. I confirmed it by phone with hotels.com. Airport taxi charged a premium (700 pesos) because it was midnight. I showed the manager a print out where it is promised. She said they had no shuttle. I asked for reimbursement of the difference (200 pesos) between what I paid and what was promised. Instead, we were offered a taxi to the airport for the advertised price but that, too, fell through. I told the staff and am still waiting to hear from the manager. I recommended the management address this but I still see it on hotels.com as of 3/11/14. Also, no slippers or bathrobe are provided as promised.

Beautiful hotel, GREAT location, excellent service except advertised shuttle from Tuxtla Gutierrez airport doesn’t exist. In historic district, close to everything, in the heart of the action. Presumably one of the oldest colonial buildings in the city. Nicely decorated room and bathroom, plenty of hot water, great shower head. Very comfortable bed. So grateful for the electric room heater! Of some seven rooms total, about four on first floor arranged (colonial-style) around a beautiful, inside courtyard which is the dining area, gorgeously appointed, filled with natural light. Beautiful common areas: reading room, store, back patio with potted plants. Limited but delicious breakfast included. Great staff! All very helpful, friendly. Noise from nightlife and dining area never woke us. If you’re a light sleeper, take ear plugs. The shuttle was a main reason I chose this hotel. I confirmed it by phone with hotels.com. Taxi charged a premium because it was midnight. I told the manager, showing a print out where it is promised. She said they had no shuttle. I asked for reimbursement of the difference of what I paid the taxi and what was promised. Instead, I was offered a taxi to the airport at the advertised price when I left. The hotel management and/or hotels.com need to address this and other minor discrepancies in what is promised on the website such as slippers and a bathrobe provided in the room. Makes me hesitant to use hotels.com, again.

well located basic hotel that's on for a short stay. Rooms are sober with a noisy minibar. The bathroom is small and no bathtub. Breakfast wasn't great and the published price for breakfast wasn't respected. Overall the hotel is "ok".

Checked in and it was a clean room. I am not fluent in Spanish, but was waiting on a friend who was, and while waiting the front desk person was trying to tell me something I couldnt comprehend. When my friend came and translated, the employee was trying to tell me I had to pay a 5000 peso deposit cash that I would recieve back when I left? When asked why his response was "politics". I said no and spent the remainder of my trip paranoid of repercussions of not playing ball. I checked out a day early.

We stayed for a couple of nights and had a very comfortable and aesthetic experience. The room was comfortable, the staff was willing to do anything or get anything the hotel did not have to offer itself. Decor is great. took lots of pictures. Location is perfect for anything in san cristobal. The only critique is that they neither had local maps to help newcomers find their way around nor were very savvy in helping their clients findf excursions or tailored activities. Instead we depended on a local taxi driver who offered to take us to wonderful places and see things that local people know about. Hotel reception staff could improve in this aspect. The restaurant staff need no improvements. they were all about service and giving a great experience.
