This is a lovely hotel in a mountain village. The views are spectacular over the hills and out over the sea. If you are staying here, I would strongly recommend renting a car to make it easier to get around the island. It was a great base to explore the nearby villages and further afield. If you want a Greek seaside holiday, this is probably not the place for you. But if you want a sense of a small Greek village away from everything, it is perfect. We loved it.

Beautiful property just above the small port of Aegali. This is a family owned business, and I would absolutely recommend this to anybody. The location is perfect, right at the beginning of one of the good hiking paths which also linked to other ones. The food is great, service is great, and they are very helpful in whatever you need. Also a great view. They are also a certified hikers hotel, so whatever you need they have it available. They recommended this place for my parents coming over the summer, and they will also be staying here. I will definitely return when I come back to Amorgos!

What a lovely, relaxed and easy going place at the top of hill above Aegalis in Tholaria. It feels like a family run business with excellent breakfast choice and variation each day. The rooms were just right, not large, but had space for everything and to be able to do things ( like making your tea and coffee in the morning). The shower was a bit small and the a/c takes a little to figure out (everything needs to be shut tight for it to come on). The blue door shades could use some WD40 and rust protection. But you’re in Amorgos and you only slowly realise how relaxed you are becoming and pleasant and friendly are the people. It’s a popular village so parking in the evening can be difficult, you might need to park down the hill and walk up but it’s no problem. Overall we loved it, would go back in a heartbeat.

Excellent accueil, hotel familial, personnel disponible, avenant, soucieux de notre confort et prend le temps d'indiquer les sites a visiter. Chambre belle vue, jolie déco et tout confort, thé,café, frigo,clim, terrasse et propreté impeccable. Petit dej excellent et variés ainsi que le resto,on s'est régalé et prix abordable. Coup de cœur pour cet hôtel et l'ile d'Amorgos.

Quel hôtel étonnant ! Situé à l'entrée du village on arrive dans un hôtel qui occupe deux bâtiments. D'apparence très simple au départ et sans artifices, on découvre très rapidement un hôtel très agréable. Les chambres sont extrêmement propres, les lits très confortables. Le personnel est très professionnel (digne d'un 5 étoiles) et vous découvrez par la suite qu'il s'agit d'une histoire familiale. Chapeau car tout le monde tient son rôle à merveille et vous fait passer un excellent séjour. Merci pour tout

Super-friendly staff, and a clean, fresh and modern hotel. Ideally placed up in the hills overlooking the port, we loved it here - probably the most relaxing holiday stay we have enjoyed in recent years. Great section of authentic, local restaurants.

This was a great family run hotel. Accompanied my daughter on a vacation, but booked too late to stay at the resort she stayed at. But I loved, loved loved this quiet, relaxing hotel. Great views, terrific pool. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The bath was modern and spacious as well. The views from my room were breath-taking. I was nervous about staying by myself. But the owners were very gracious. Breakfast came with. Also good. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Not only was the hotel absolutely gorgeous but we felt like we were with family. They were so kind and caring, we really felt at home. The hotel was so nice that it seemed like it should have been much more expensive

Wonderful little hotel on outskirts of Tholaria, peaceful little village with a few restaurants and bars. Comfortable room, friendly welcoming staff and family, great buffet breakfast, lovely swimming pool, bar service and fab Mojitos!!! A car is recommended to explore northern area of Amorgos, the beautiful port of Aegali, local beaches and fabulous views. We will return!!

The entire staff/family at Vigla Hotel was amazing. Eleni and family was one of the highlights staying in Amorgos. The hotel is in a great location and only 5 minutes from the beach. The family was very helpful in planning activities and overall shared a lot of warmth and were very welcoming. I would recommend the Vigla Hotel to anyone who wants to feel apart of a Greek Family =)

This is a lovely family run hotel that is set in a beautiful and tranquil village. The welcome on arrival was second to none and the staff are keen to help and offer any local knowledge about accessing coves and location of the excellent nearby tavernas. Everything is spotless, breakfasts are simple and delicious, a truly relaxing experience.

Perfect staff, perfect hotel, at a perfect time of the year! Mama's food is amazing and the local tea delicious!

We stayed at ghe Vigla Hotel for15 days and loved every minute. The family and staff were always very friendly and courtesy to us. Our rooms were cleaned perfectly every day. The food was wonderful we do not have even one complaint. We will miss them. We will look forward to our next trip.

Très bel hôtel dans le village de Tholaria sur les hauteurs d'Amorgos. Literie de très bonne qualité, personnel agréable et souriant, plats frais et goûteux. Propose de nombreuses activités pour découvrir la culture locale (cuisine et randonnées). Nous y avons passé un très bon moment.

Dés notre réservation, l'hôtel a pris contact avec nous pour préparer notre séjour. C'était super ! A notre arrivée, un grand merci à l'équipe de l'hôtel Vigla pour son accueil et sa gentillesse ! Nous avons eu de précieux conseils pour visiter l'île d'Amorgos. Et nous avons eu une aide vraiment efficace pour régler un souci de bateau annulé : encore merci pour la gestion de cet évènement ! L'hôtel est situé à une quarantaine de minutes de route du port de Katapola et se trouve dans le charmant village de Tholaria. La chambre est propre et décorée avec beaucoup de goût ! Un balcon offre une superbe vue sur la nature ! Le petit déjeuner est sous forme de buffet avec un choix varié et le marbré fait maison était top !!! L'hôtel propose un service de restauration où nous avons pu apprécier les bons petits plats de la maman de la propriétaire ! Une sensation d'être "comme à la maison" , un esprit "pension de famille" très convivial ! Le jour du départ, nous avons eu un petit déjeuner à emporter qui était top !!! Bref ... une belle découverte ! Nous recommandons vivement !
