We were assigned a suite on the 8th floor.
The moment we entered the room, we were greeted by a strong musty, damp smell that seemed to be coming from the air conditioner or somewhere in the room. It did not feel like the room had been properly ventilated.
Since it was a room with cooking facilities, I understand that odors can sometimes linger. However, there were numerous food splatters on the wallpaper, which made the room feel poorly maintained. More importantly, there was a dead mosquito stuck on the glass partition inside the shower booth, as if someone had swatted it and it had never been cleaned. It made us seriously question whether the room had been properly inspected before our arrival.
In addition, due to fire safety inspections, the alarm sounded several times during both the afternoon and the following morning, which was quite disruptive. The TV also had connectivity issues—it frequently disconnected, and at times there was no sound at all. These problems made our stay even more disappointing.
This was our first stay at a Sono property, but based on this experience, I’m not sure if we would choose Sono Belle again.
The bed was comfortable, but honestly, it was no better than the beds at many 3- or 4-star hotels in Hamdeok or downtown Jeju.
If you’re planning a romantic getaway as a couple, I honestly cannot recommend staying here.
