The property was fine but for what it is, it is very expensive. The food was mediocre at best but you were charged a lot more than it was worth. The rooms were clean but considering the price the towels were thin and the soap /shampoo indifferent. For the price charged I was expecting so much better.

The rooms are nice but need to benrefreshed. Bathroom smells unpleasant and as soon as the door is opened, this smell goes into whole room.

During check in processing my colleagues were given another room. The invoice was wrong. And despite my few emails I still don’t get the corrected invoice. Very, very disappointing

Great hotel more century place than it looks on the map. Spacious rooms and friendly staff. I stayed in a lot of hotels in Braunschweig and this is one of the best

Check in was effortless even with the corona restrictions it was made easy and clear and quick. Room was exactly what you expect. A wonderful stay

Bathrooms were great. The bed I slept in had an old mattress. The springs in that mattress created hurting spots on my back that didn’t disappear until a after my departure. Staff was friendly but either incompetent or unwilling. We had to DISCOVER on our own that during our stay was there was neither room cleaning nor towel exchange. Fresh towels had to be picked up at the front desk. Nobody told us about the reduced service. There were also other incidences that clearly showed a lack of either competence or sufficient care for the few guests. One reason for us staying at Steigenberger hotels when we are in Germany is their restaurants. The restaurant at this location certainly allowed us to see a glimpse of what it is -under normal circumstances- capable of. But when we ordered a medium burger it came well done. The beef was dry and reminded us of the German large meatball called “Frikadelle”. Worst of all: the meat was thawed first, because the patties weren’t fresh but frozen prior to preparation. I understand that the hotels have an issue with special pandemic rules. But there is no reason to offer hamburgers from frozen meat and not cleaning the rooms.

Beautiful hotel, very well kept. Large rooms and exceptional bath rooms. A true 4-star place. The only down side were the uncomfortable mattresses that did not provide a good night sleep.

The hotel is in a wonderful location, with beautiful lobby and rooms. I would stay there again. However, the room they first gave me was not made up. The person must have just moved out that day. I called reception and they gave me another room, but this was a first.
